Tab control using Telnet (ClientQuery Plugin)

Is it possible to get a list of the open tabs, with connection information for each?

Is it possible to use Telnet to get information from as well as create tabs?

I'd like to create a simple general purpose overlay which shows you which tab you're currently speaking on, which you're listening on (i.e. which aren't muted). I was hoping to use the ClientQuery commands but there doesn't seem to be any mention of multiple tabs.

Update -> Merged 2 Threads. Both do have same topic.

I don't know any command to do that.
You could add code to switch to the tabs and to collect the informations from all and at the the result is printed in your own list.

Thanks for your reply. So you suggest I use a plugin to control tabs? How would I interact with the plugin? It would be a pain setting up another socket.

Just use the command use to switch the tabs. Grab informations you need, then switch to next tab and repat that till you get error id=1799.
And then print your informations into your tool/plugin/website idk.
Now repeat step 1 after some seconds to get updated.

There is no way to get how many tabs are open. And a closed tab in between will also destroy that.

Using telnet and the plugin is not the best and right way.
You better create you own plugin for this.

Unless there's a bug in any of those functions, you should be able to get the list of serverConnectionHandlers by using
    Code:
    serverconnectionhandlerlist
    .
Using that list for stepping through the tabs using use as Dante explained you can get info on the particular tabs, however with that list there shouldn't arise any error as there shouldn't be a decayed id in it.

For the "current" tab, note there're two slightly different interpretations to that.
The tab currently selected in the UI should be obtainable by using
    Code:
    currentschandlerid
    and register for changes using
    Code:
    clientnotifyregister schandlerid=0 event=notifycurrentserverconnectionchanged
    as pointed out in demo.py.

Then, there's the tab the user is currently talking on. They're usually the same, that depends on if the user has selected "Activate microphone automatically when switching servers" in his client. If you prefer that, you'd go for the clientvariable client_input_hardware on yourself on the tabs, where a notification might come in via notifyclientupdated.
