Instance check error /failed to update local accounting /no Key on start (on Windows)

We from TeamSpeak still search for users with that problem.
We need someone who can offer us access to his machine to find and fix this bug!

Ok followed every step from the tuturials on how to install/run the TS3 server on windows and i just cant get it going.

When I try to lunch it for the first time it never generates the token, i cant seem to connect the client with server on the same computer though localhost address and the log file has the following entries:

As far as i could tell this seems to be related to the fact it's running without a license so it needs to check for other instances or something and the only solutions I could find are for unix based system that mention the need of 'mounting' something somewhere... is there a similar solution for windows?

Say what?

But ts3 server isn't even installed per say... what would a reboot solve exactly?

Either way I did a full restart and nothing changed... every time I try to start the server i get the same errors

Did already and every answer I found is related to unix based system. this a windows server system on which the unix solution is not possible

PS: did you even bother reading my original post and the possible solutions found on the forums?

Might sound like a daft question, but are you sure the Teamspeak server isn't being started automatically when you start the Windows server?

Run 'netstat -an -p UDP' at the command prompt to see if it's listening on the Teamspeak port (default is 9987, yours may be different) before starting Teamspeak manually

Just checked nothing on that port, and shouldn't since the server isn't actually installed to the chances it would be started automaticly as a services or at start-up are less then zero

I downloaded the server, teamspeak3-server_win64-3.0.10.3, and proceeded with the usual setup for the server. However, when the dialog box popped up, there was a blank space where the Server Admin Token should have been.

Not sure where I may have messed up or perhaps this is a bug.

I have tried deleting the folder and redoing the process. I have even re-downloaded the file to make sure that my horrific connection to the net isn't the cause of the issue. Issue is unchanged from original problem no matter what I have done thus far to fix the problem.

I could be wrong, but once upon a time, the tokens were written to the first log file.
However, I faintly remember that something around this thing have been changed.

This can happen, when no virtual server was created on the first start.
This can be configured or can happen, when a license is running somewhere else.

But only a guess without server logs.

Sorry I didn't post that in the OP. Thanks for any help or advice you might have to offer.

*Update*

Tried connecting to localhost without caring about the Server Admin Token. Failed to connect error. So I'm guessing that, for whatever reason, the server executable is failing to actually create a server. Any idea if I am even headed in the right direction? Or am I not even close.

I suppose your server isn't running, it seems that it quits because it can't register the local accounting service. I don't know how teamspeak handles local account on a windows based system. On a linux system it is done by shared memory. You need to fix this issue. As it is a windows system... have to tried rebooting right after install before starting the server the first time?! The old windows saying is "a boot is good"!

I will give the reboot after install a try and see what happens. Don't remember having to do that in a previous version of the server but it is most definitely worth a shot.

That was a good try. But unfortunately the issues was unchanged.

Sorry, that my suggestion didn't work. As said before I don't know windows because it never came to my mind to use a windows system as server. You need to find a solution for the local accounting issue... as long as that isn't solved nothing will help.

Try starting server with superadmin rights.
