Switched USB internet adapter - Now server isn't working

The adapter I had was apparently bad but just when I switched, neither me or my friends could connect to the server... I just tried switching back to the old one though and it still doesn't work? So I'm not 100% sure? But what else could it be? The timing was too well to be something else...
I'm on windows 8 and my internet is fine otherwise, so is my friends, etc... what happened to my server?

Maybe wrong IP and port forwardings do not match anymore due the other IP?
    - Check your LAN and WAN IP and your port forwarding for this IP.
    - And please update to Windows 8.1 if you havn't yet.

    Thanks for replying!

I am on windows 8.1, sorry. Anyway, I checked the port forwarding and it's still the same, also the IP remains the same. Nothing that I can see is changed, at all... But it still doesn't work.

Maybe your windows firewall is blocking then.
This Adpater is a new "Network Adapter" for windows and will set it to private (or how it is called on Windows 8) which denies some connections.

I checked that earlier and now I checked it again. Nope, it's allowing it. Hm...

I remember such case for network cards from Nvidia and Killer Nic. These cards caused problems with some drivers.

Try different drivers for this adapter.
I have no clue left for this.

Well, I have got new drivers for it. What's weird, as I said, is that it doesn't work when I switch back to the old one. I still think it has to do with switching it, though, since it happened at about the exact same time. But I'm not sure. It could be something completely different...

So what are some other general tips or stuff you should try when this happens?

Bump? It's been 24h since last post, I'm not sure about the rules but that is usually enough.

I still appreciate help! I've been trying to google but haven't found much, and it's easier to get personal help.

It is possible your router is using the old network cards mac address connected to IP address.
    Trying re-doing your ports?
