Please note that a vulnerability was discovered in the test client.
Clicking specially crafted channels, clients or the server entry in the TreeView can cause the client to no longer respond.
As the IPv6 client was never meant to be used in production (or permanently) but rather exclusively for testing IPv6 in the server / client, we opted to not fix this vulnerability in this client at this point in time. If we make another newer client available for IPv6 testing then that may include the fix for this issue. See this thread for more details about the issue.

Hey there, I was just wondering. If I update my Teamspeak 3 server to the beta, Will that require everyone to grab the Beta Client in order to connect? and does the Server use ipv6 by default? I saw in prev post that someone added ipv6 addresses to the ini file, is that required in order to enable ipv6???

The stable client 3.0.19.x with IPv6 will work as long you do not tell the server to use IPv6 only.
The server will use and allow IPv4 and IPv6 by default.

BTW: What does this "44" in front of the IPv6 address and client port mean?
    Code:
    2016-07-02 14:04:02.580856|INFO    |Query         |   |query from 44 [2001:1608:10:3::5:a]:36048 issued: login with account "serveradmin"(serveradmin)
It's nothing new, but I've always asked myself what it does mean.

    This message is new, or?
    Code:
    2016-06-25 13:58:48.844951|INFO |PktHandler |1 |Dropping client 1 because of ping timeout 19 0 0
    2016-06-25 13:59:46.917062|INFO |PktHandler |1 |Dropping client 2 because of ping timeout 19 0 0
And what exactly does it mean? The "1" / "2" is likely the client ID, but what does "19 0 0" mean? Hour, Minute, Second? First, second and third ping try to reach the client?

It's just a counter of query connections that have happened. So in this case it was the 44th query connection.

Ah, ok. Thank you for this information.

Who knows more about the "Dropping client" message?

This is only for debugging and will be removed from stable version.

With beta 2 from today, I am unable to provoke the rsa_puzzle.cpp:465 error. It did not occur any more even after 4 hours of continuous stop/restart, although it occurred in my environment for previous versions, so I consider it fixed.

In case you want to see the incredibly complex and sophisticated testing script I used for testing, here you are:

    Code:
while true; do systemctl restart teamspeak3-server; sleep 5; done
    and in another task:
    Code:
    journalctl -nall -f | grep -i Assert

Thank you very much for the added IPv6 support, that was a much needed addition!

I have just installed it and it seems to work beautifully so far.
I am happily expecting the Linux-client version :-)

    Best regards,
    Tobias
