cannot restart server, no access to user created to run teamspeak on ubuntu

Do i need access to the user i created to run teamspeak on ubuntu. the user password is not giving me access anymore. Is there a way to restart the server without logging in as the teamspeak user, but using root instead?

You can change the password for that user as root.
(please do not use root to start, stop or restart the server).

    Code:
    passwd username
    Changing local password for username
    New Password: thenewpassword
    Retype New Password: thenewpassword

Sometimes using Google is much faster than asking a question to anyone ;D
