    Unable to Speak, can hear just fine

    When I upgraded to version 3.0.19.4, it disabled my microphone. I can still hear people on the server just fine, but I am unable to send to anything other than the "Test" command in the options.

    I am using a Razer Kraken headset, which gives the option of using either the 7.1 controller or the line in signal. Both signals worked perfectly until I upgraded, but now, I can only send sound to the Test button in the Capture settings screen of the option menu, and only while I am talking to someone on Skype at the same time. If I am not running Skype while I am connected to Teamspeak, it does not register any input at all.

    I have tried with both the 32 and 64 bit versions of the program, have tried repositioning my headset in different USB ports, have tried relaunching the client and rebooting the computer, and nothing has fixed the problem. I have also tried all three capture options (PTT, continuous, and voice activated), with the same lack of response. I have no idea what to try now. As I already mentioned, my headset worked perfectly until the upgrade, and my headset works perfectly in other programs. Teamspeak is the only program that does not allow me to speak through my headset.

    Since the original post, I have received and installed an AMD update that affected my video card, motherboard, and CPU.

    No change in the lack of voice capture by Teamspeak. It still only recognizes voice input to the test button on the voice capture options page (and ONLY there) if I am simultaneously using Skype, as if it is piggybacking on the Skype signal. This behavior has only occurred since updating to version 3.0.19.4.

    Have a look at Skype Options -> Audio Settings. There's a checkbox like "Automatically adjust microphone settings".
    That setting messes with the system wide microphone input level, giving a waffle about any other application's needs.
    Disable that, go to your sound recording settings in windows (e.g. Win+R ->

    .
    Select mic in device, adjust mic level manually, e.g. together with TS local test mode for more accurate visualization.
    When the level is fine, set and forget.
