    I can't complain here, your package does extract without any problems on Ubuntu.
    Which OS and which client and which command do oyu use to extract the package? you missed some details about it.

    But i had to use a start script to start the package_inst binary. I need to talk to a developer about that problem.

    the problem is observed and on windows.
    tested clients: all versions, include latest 3.1beta2.
    tested OS: win7 all, winXP x86, Ubuntu 16.04.1 LTS amd64, debian 7 x86.

    in fact, because of it, and I found a bug: a user complained about the duplication of files in the archive.
    file structure is as follows: /lagos_ru.qm, /translations/lagos_ru.qm

    from the archive file was deleted /lagos_ru.qm and replaced /translations/lagos_ru.qm on actual at date.
    then he complained that lagos_ru.qm - unpacked with zero size.

    But your package ts3client_ru_v3.1-beta2_bug.ts3_translation extracts without problems and in right folder.
    \translations in client 3.0.19.4 and %appdata%\TS3Client\translations for client 3.1 beta2
    I can't reproduce what you report here.

    The only duplicates i have are in client 3.1, because our original files are stored under \translations while client 3.1 now extracts all addons into the config folder.

    on ubuntu 16.04.1 (client 3.1beta2) and win7 x86 (client 3.0.19.4)

    The only duplicates i have are in client 3.1, because our original files are stored under \translations while client 3.1 now extracts all addons into the config folder.
    i'm know, as work package_inst and unpack files by filter.
    please, see strace out and files listing in %tmp%\ts3import\ts3client_ru_v3\translations

    Ok, you are right.
    I need to test a bit more why only this file is broken.

    //Edit
    I need to ask a developer which zip version 788 could be.

    Works when i repack it with Winrar. I don't get any errors and all files do have the right file size after extraction.
    Which zip version or program have you used? And does it work, when you also re-pack the whole thing with same program/command?

    I don't see a reason yet why only one of the file is broken and not all content.
    I would understand when all files are broken or when the package could not be extracted or opened at all.

    I wrote all of this down as a note for a developer meeting

    Itself archive is tested for integrity and well decompressed as the console zip and manager.
    Code:
    $ zip -T ts3client_ru_v3.1-beta2_bug.ts3_translation
    test of ts3client_ru_v3.1-beta2_bug.ts3_translation OK
    error only occurs in package_inst

    I don't see a reason yet why only one of the file is broken and not all content.
    I would understand when all files are broken or when the package could not be extracted or opened at all.
    I'll try to reproduce the problem in another way

    Thanks! Will try to zip it on my own machine with that zip version (my version was 3.0-8 on ubuntu 14.04).

    //Edit #1
    I installed Ubuntu 16.04 and have the same zip version now.

    Please press F5 after 30 minutes have passed.
    I will add some results in this post.

    //Edit #2
    I managed to zip your extracted files in a new zip file via console and on desktop.
    Code:
    I used this command, while i was in the extractd folder and i renamed it afterwrds to console_zipped.ts3_translation

    zip -r console_zipped.zip *
    Both files extracted fine with the package installer and without any broken file or warning in the console.
    Click image for larger version.

    Code:
    ./Client/Stable/ts3client_package.sh console_zipped.ts3_translation
    content of my ts3client_package.sh
    Code:
    #!/bin/bash

    export KDEDIRS=
    export KDEDIR=
    export QTDIR=.
    export QT_PLUGIN_PATH=.
    export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=".:$LD_LIBRARY_PATH"

    D1=$(readlink -f "$0")
    D2=$(dirname "${D1}")
    cd "${D2}"

    if [ -e update ]; then
    	./package_inst [email protected]
    else
    	./package_inst [email protected]
    fi

    //Edit #3
    To sum this up:
    I used the same Linux and Zip version to re-create the same addon. But my isn't broken after extracting it with the package installer.

    I have abosloutly no idea how that file in your zip is broken for the package installer. but i'm also a Linux noob so it's not hat hard to bring me in that position
    I need to discuss this with a co-worker.

    Still not reproducable with your command. The package and it's content is fine.
    (btw "_*.*" throws errors)

    What? I don't understand the question.

    //Update
    It could a problem with incompatibility from zip.
    We could change the whole system to use 7zip instead by default to avoid something like that.
