Everyone can hear my friend fine, but I can't?

I didn't know where else to put this and I don't post on forums often, so bear with me please!
Several months ago a friend of mine set up a teamspeak server for all of us to use. Everything has been all great until recently, where everybody can hear my friend (the server host, if that helps anything) just fine, but I can't.
I've checked everything I could think of such as re-downloading teamspeak, making his volume level maximum, seeing if he was muted, etc. I can hear everybody else in the group as well, just not him. His blue dot doesn't even light up to show he is speaking either.
Sorry if my explanation doesn't make much sense, but if anybody could help that'd be great!

Maybe the user is whispering to the others.
Andyou do not even hear him, when he and you reconnect to the server?

No, I can't hear him when we reconnect, and he isn't whispering to others either
