    [Request] Opus Bitrate Options

The available Opus bitrate options are simply no longer adequate. Nearly every major competitor to TS3 offers objectively superior voice quality. Ideally, Teamspeak would support up to 96kb/s for Opus Voice. In case you aren't aware just how major of a difference bitrate makes, check out the following pages on Opus' site.

    Opus Bitrate Examples
    Opus Bitrate Comparisons

    Code:
    Mumble:
Up to 128kb/s, lower latency than TS

    Discord:
    Up to 128kb/s

    Skype:
    Up to 40kb/s

TeamSpeak already supports up to 79.2 kbit/s for Opus Music and 45.2 kbit/s for Opus Voice. I don't see your point.

Since when? Opus Voice and Opus Music cap out at 7.71KiB/s and 11.87 KiB/s respectively on my server.

Since Opus was added in 3.0.10. My client says 7.71 KiB/s as a maximum for Opus Voice. If you subtract overhead (constant 2250 B/s for Opus), you get the numbers I posted. Also, Opus is VBR.

    7.71 KiB = 64kbps

    11.87 KiB = 97Kbps

    Celt Mono 13.92 KiB = 115Kbps

Where are you getting the 2250 KiB/s overhead figure from? What frame size does teamspeask use? I'm assuming that you meant 2.25 KiB/s but even that seems underestimated.

Also, I realize that Opus is VBR but teamspeak doesn't show a target bitrate.

Your calculations are both wrong, and don't account for overhead.

I meant 2.25 kB/s (not 2.25 KiB/s though). That is the official figure from TeamSpeak and I think that's slightly overestimated.
TeamSpeak's framesize is obviously depending on the codec (usually bitrate 0.02s, but you can customize it to go up to 528 bytes when using Speex). See this for details. Everything is explained there.

Can you stop accusing King Query I. of spreading incorrect information? The maximum raw target bitrate is 79.2 kbit/s for Opus Music and 45.2 kbit/s for Opus Voice with a VBR margin of around 7%. This is a fact. Stop talking about things you don't understand if you don't even know what the difference between KiB/s and kbps is.
