Cannot reproduce, they do seem to work just fine.
Did you try setting it again? Maybe it was corrupted or deleted on the server.

When selecting the file now, the selection filter defaults to images of only the following file types: .bmp .pbm .pgm .png .ppm .xpm .xpm
If I change the filter to All Files and select a file type not in that list (ex .jpg) I receive the following error:
"Invalid image selected. Failed to set avatar."
I've observed the same behavior while connected to several different TS servers (servers running versions 3.0.13.3, 30.0.13.4, and 3.0.13.6).
Please check the imageformats folder in your TeamSpeak client folder. There should be a qjpeg.dll and qgif.dll
Please also post your full client log.
When sending PMs please make sure to include a reference link to the thread in question in the body of your message.
Both files are present.

It may be that the files are broken. A re-installation via installer could fix this.
Download TeamSpeak3-Client-win32-3.1.0.1.exe
Do you have QT installed somewhere else?

TeamSpeak FAQ || What should i report, when i open a client thread?
If you mean Quicktime, no I do not have it installed.
A full reinstall (including uninstall with removal of local settings) of TS3 with the link you provided did not help. Same issue persists. There appears to be another issue now with channel icons on the server I primarily use. This just appeared after the reinstall so it seems to be local. Many channel and user group icons are no longer displaying properly. This seems related, as I spot checked the icon cache in my TS3 appdata path; there are many icon files, some of which are of zero size. The ones that do have a file size can be opened in an image editor, are reported as PNG files, and these are the ones correctly displayed in the TS3 client. Client log linked below due to length limit:
http://pastebin.com/vTw8puft
With Qt I mean Qt (https://www.qt.io/ Only developers need that).
The icons are broken for you because you cleared the cache and downloads with 0 bytes are a known problem (we have currently no fix for this).
Thank you for your feedback. We still have no clue about the problem with your DLLs
Does it really work when you use client 3.1?
Download TeamSpeak3-Client-win32-3.1.exe
Does the 64bit client have the same problem?
Download TeamSpeak3-Client-win64-3.1.0.1.exe

TeamSpeak FAQ || What should i report, when i open a client thread?
Dammit.
But I saw something else in the client log which could explain the problem.
Your Windows 10 version with build 10586 is really outdated (It's a pre version or the first stable release from autumn 2015).Code:2017-01-16 15:04:36 Info SystemInformation: Windows 10 (10586) x64 (AMD or Intel) Binary: 32bit
We had problems with that outdated version in the past before client 3.1 was released to the public.
The latest Windows 10 version should be build 14xxx or higher when latests updates are installed.
Could be that you can't upgrade the Windows version to the latest one without re-installing Windows.
//Edit
I will try to get this outdated version somewhere and test it out.
But you should think about updating your Windows version to the latest one.

TeamSpeak FAQ || What should i report, when i open a client thread?
I had Win10 set to Defer Updates. Reset that and installed what I guess was the anniversary update. Client log now reports my Windows build as 14393.
Clean reinstalled TS 3.1.0.1 32-bit, and the issue remains.
I made the same test on this outdated version but was able to set jpg :/
I only can imagine something blocks the DLL files from being loaded.Code:17.01.2017 14:35:33 Info TeamSpeak 3 Client 3.1.0.1 (2017-01-12 12:10:40) 17.01.2017 14:35:33 Info SystemInformation: Windows 10 (10586) x64 (AMD or Intel) Binary: 32bit ... .. 17.01.2017 14:35:54 UIHelpers Info Supported image formats: *.bmp *.gif *.jpeg *.jpg *.pbm *.pgm *.png *.ppm *.xbm *.xpm
Do you have any antivirus, spyware, firewall installed?
I have no other clue left here at this moment.

TeamSpeak FAQ || What should i report, when i open a client thread?
I have Avast antivirus installed, program and definitions up to date. I've tried temp disabling it then running Teamspeak, with no effect. I don't see any indication that it is actively blocking something.
Is the DLL listed in the Process Explorer (CTRL + F)

Download the Process Explorer from Microsoft Website.
The tool can be started without any installation.
