3.1.x Can't set hotkey with my Joystick, Gamepad

I started the client with controller plugin disabled and let it settle for approx. 1 minute.
Then I enabled the plugin, went to options->capture and tried to set PTT. It detected correctly joystick button 24. It did not detect button release though so I was left with window saying that joystick button 24 is pressed and waited for some combo key to be added. I ESC'd it, discarded changes and disabled the plugin again.

Pedals seem to have ID detected, while Razer Orbwaver and Nostromo did not.

We hope to see why your devices could be found but not identified.

Here is the plugin test version.

How to install the test plugin:
1. Open Tools -> Settings -> Addons
2. Press uninstall on plugin "Gamepad and Joystick Hotkey Support"
3. Start the Test_gamepad_joystick_plugin_win32.ts3_plugin for 32 bit client and install the addon.
4. Restart your client to make sure all old DLLs are unloaded.
5. Now test your device(s) and post your log here.

How to install the stable version again (the only way to get plugin updates in future):
1. Open Tools -> Settings -> Addons
2. Press uninstall on plugin "Gamepad and Joystick Hotkey Support"
3. Select Browse online and enter gamepad into the filter
4. Click on Gamepad and Joystick Hotkey Support
5. Press install.

We could identitfy your problem. We do expect a device with HID#VID_.
But your devices used HID#VHIDJS#.

Our developer will investigate into this.

Do you remember if your Razer Orbwaver or Nostromo was working in older client 3.0.19.4?
It seems that the problem started before 3.1.

I was using this setup for years without problems.
It stopped working in 3.1.1. Not sure now, but I think my last working version was 3.1.0.x, but I may be wrong.

Regarding the detection issue - it still works to some extent, as it correctly detects first button press. Only after that addon goes to some sort of limbo. Maybe this wrong ID messes up some condition or pointer...

I'm an avid flight simmer so i use a button on my throttle as my PTT, but earlier today it stopped working. I've been trying to get it working again for the past hour or so but i can't even find anyone else with my problem. This is a problem with teamspeak, i've confirmed the hotas itself is still working.

The problem is this: When i got to add a hotkey, it only registers buttons from my mouse & keyboard, and before you say it, i don't have it set to mouse & keyboard. Thanks for whatever help you can provide.

For Everyone in that thread:

Here is a new pre version of the "Gamepad and Joystick Hotkey Support" plugin for your problems.

This pre version uses a new method to find your input devices and could fix your hotkey problems.
This version also has more logging enabled (Tools -> Client log) and we need that log from you.

How to install:
1. You have to uninstall the old plugin before you can install the new one. You can uninstall it under Tools -> Options -> Addons
2. Open or extract the right zip file
3. Double click the addon file and the package installer should do the rest.
4. Restart your client and try if you can use or set your hotkeys now.

Please remember, we need your feedback to see if we are on the right way.

We can reproduce it with the xbox 360 game pad.
The issue seems related to the 32 bit client version.

As a workaround (till we fix that issue): you can install and use the 64 bit client. The game pad is recognized there.

Following was fixed:

Unknown devices should now be recognized and can be used.
Joysticks & Gampeads work again on 32 bit client.
Xbox 360 and Xbox One gamepads can be used at the same time and are recognized as different devices.

For those who used a test version
You have to uninstall that test version first to get the update and future updates.

How to install the stable version again (the only way to get plugin updates in future):
1. Open Tools -> Settings -> Addons
2. Press uninstall on plugin "Gamepad and Joystick Hotkey Support"
3. Select Browse online and enter gamepad into the filter
4. Click on Gamepad and Joystick Hotkey Support
5. Press install.
