    Can the identity.ini files be repaired?

    Hello everyone,
    So just yesterday i had my Computer formated and moved to windows 10. I had extracted my identity from ts3 and putted it into a usb. Although there was an accident and it got deleted during the process. I used some data recovery software to grant the .ini files back and i now have in a "Good" condition as the program says. Now i have never tried an identity inport before thus i think i'm doing something wrong.

    • Is there a possibility of file damage leading to TS not reading it properly?
    • Does anyone know of a software to repair .ini files?
    • Shouldn't it load the identity with some settings just being missed?
    • How does an .ini file look when opened in word pad?( mine are invisible you can move cursor like there where characters/letter/code but you don't see anything like it's white color or empty.

    Thank you in advance for the help and time spent.

    PS: I really need the profile identity back there are just too many severs to recover and mess with security setting and
    stuff.

    I can only answer the TeamSpeak related stuff.

    You should have used MyTeamSpeak Sync feature or a second backup.
    That is the only way to restore your stuff.

    You will not damage anything.

    The client should not load the right identity.

    Sounds like content is broken or your setup in word pad is messed up.

    Something like that does not exist.

    Exactly in case you haven't synchronized your identity or have a working backup of your settings.db (client 3.1 and newer only) or extracted ini file.

    The identity INI file is called "ts3clientui_qt.secrets.conf" (not .ini). It is easily recognized as it starts with this text:
    Code:
    ;WARNING!!
    ;THIS FILE CONTAINS ALL SAVED PASSWORDS AND IDENTITIES FOR TEAMSPEAK 3
    ;DO NOT SHARE THIS FILE WITH ANYONE, NOT EVEN YOUR HOSTER OR TEAMSPEAK-SYSTEMS.
    ;DOING SO, CAN RESULT IN UNAUTHORIZED PERSONS GAINING ACCESS TO YOUR SERVERS,
    ;AND EVEN WORSE, THEY CAN IMPERSONATE YOU AND THE SERVERS WILL NOT BE ABLE
    ;TO TELL THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THEM AND YOU!! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!
    (As of autumn 2016, it does not contain passwords, though.)

    /Edit: It is no longer used. Maybe a backup was created by TeamSpeak, though I don't know how to import that one.

    Nobody was talking about the ts3clientui_qt.secrets.conf.
    The ini file is the file you create when you export your identity(es)

    Are you sure that the ini file is broken?

    It should look like this example
    Code:
    [Identity]
    id=New identity_5
    identity="292VOpzvikhBnmeoxWrLfWWvL3UMV3FMJWdydHoAdQJJDFpOfHhUCmpyCQgCNhRDDn1WIGdnXWNoYRAvZH0GVw9dfVxEYnhnFnJ6MTRjJS4nUhd1UxwAFHdgLnwPWW8EUHYbK3UZC1JmWUNJUUR5VXNBUFhTYyswczdaYlFYNTBIM3NiZEs1QlhDdy9FdlRYM3NsSm1uWHlRPT0="
    nickname=Test
    phonetic_nickname=
