[Suggestion] Gfx Interval

I understand this is something really small, but still, would be of quite some help.

The gfx interval in the server options, should allow a parameter size of less than 60 seconds.

Why?

I understand from TeamSpeak's perspective this isn't major, but from a Developer's perspective, who's still trying somewhat to compete against Discord, it really would be of big help. I have created an interactive/automated banner for my server, however I have noticed some rather annoying behaviour where despite being set to 60, sometimes the banner takes 63 seconds to refresh, sometimes even longer.

I understand you don't support interactive banners, but it really isn't much to ask for a feature to work properly or stop the restriction.

So the suggestion is either fix it, or let the value be less than 60.

Totally agree. This should be done a while ago. I'm a developer myself and I have an interactive banner and few seconds sometimes make a big difference from user's perspective.

As far as I know (and you can tell from my 3.6k posts here that I know a lot), the only purpose of banners is to annoy users. The main problem with them is that you cannot disable them client-side. This would be useful for everyone who does not have good internet as well as everyone who disagrees with inexperienced admins who think banners were meant as a replacement for YouTube or PornHub.

As every banner download will cause a noticable ping spike for everyone with under like 5 Mbit/s downstream and downloading a banner makes the TeamSpeak client use 100% CPU, 60 seconds are more than enough.

I am planning to give my users the option to disable it via my own systems, considering TeamSpeak are unable to solve that too.

Either way, it should either start working properly, or should be classed as a bug while it doesn't. Its only a few seconds, but still, it can sometimes make a difference, depending on the data going onto the banner.

The GFX feature should be clearly improved, the current way is too simplist and clearly not optimized.

The first thing is create a simple protocol, instead of setting the image URI the client should receive a JSON entry wich list all images, duration and link.

It would be awesome to see an option to enforce the client to use synchronized update, with it the server send an event to the client when it should update the GFX.

A list of options should be available on the client to avoid any problems:

1) Download rate limit
2) Disable GFX since the pre-download is not yet finished
3) Disable GFX
4) Disable rotation
5) Disable link
6) Disable cache

Of course, I totally agree here, but honestly, I'm approaching this in a way of small steps. Clearly, the development of TeamSpeak has drastically slowed down, so I wouldn't come to expect such a development to happen soon. At least fix what is implemented and doesn't work before moving on.

Sounds salty, but there's a reason for it. I've used Teamspeak for years and will still use it, but as a matter of fact, it seems like no proper, new or even mildly exciting features get added at all
