One way for server group is to set the permission in that group but leave the value and skip disabled.
Now you can decide to set force ptt as a channel permission into target channel.
Or you create a channel group where force ptt is set and then you assign the group to target users.

I'm kinda confused here.
I thought I could force PTT per channel in channel permissions with 'force ptt' and then negate the same permission in all server groups that I want them to bypass forced PTT.
This is what I described above.
But to bypass the force ptt in other server groups you must enable the Skip flag on the force ptt permission but leave the value disabled or set b_client_skip_channelgroup_permissions in that server group.
You better use the Skip flag. This way not all permissions from channel or channel groups are ignored.

Can you please tell me what to do from start to finish cause that's not working for me.
Here's an explanation of the current situation:
I have a set of channels in which I want everyone to be forced to use PTT, except admins and mods. I don't want to use channel groups to do this, I want to do it with server groups.
Channel groups? This was an optional second way.
I'm guessing into the wild without a permission overview of such user.
- Set the force ptt permission to the channel.
- Enable skip flag on force ptt permission or set b_client_skip_channelgroup_permissions on Admin & Mod group.
- Make sure all other server groups have no skip flag on force ptt enabled and no permission b_client_skip_channelgroup_permissions set.
That should be it.

Doesn't seem to work.
Must be messed up permissions, this server is quite old and many experiments were done in the past few years and lots of different people were editing lots of stuff.
Thanks for the help anyways.
Just Post a permission overview of such user while he is in that channel and I can tell exactly what's going on.
It's just a simple right click on that user and another 'choose permissions -> permit overview' and a last export as text.
Then upload it here.
Don't mind when words differ a bit, I don't have the client in front of me to compare.

Alright, I sent you a PM with all group perms.
I did read hours ago and did reply here already.
My post is gone
Sorry...
The problem was that your channel groups have force ptt permission set with a disabled value. This overwrites the channel permission.
Remove the permission from the channel group(s) completely.
This should be it.

Hi, I have searched and found posts on this but I am still confused!
I want to force all clients to use PTT and not have an open mic.
I have looked in permissions for server groups, and have found ‘force push to talk’ - under here there is ‘value’ (ticked) ‘skip’ (unticked) and ‘negate’ (unticked). And then at the end the value of 75. Do I just need to leave ‘value’ ticked and change 75 to 0?
TIA!

The Grant value in the end says that user in the group could modify the first value, skip and negate flags.
Only remove that when it is not in the Admin group (mostly the group who should be able to modify permissions).
Changing it to 0 mostly destroys admin groupsSo please think about it before removing the Grant value.

Thanks for the reply 😊 I only altered the ‘guest’ server group - but it sounds like this isn’t the right way to do it? How should I be enforcing PTT by server group then? I don’t really understand the skip and negate flags 🤔 I simply want to force everybody to use PTT in every channel
