This is bad because your account is kind of lost and all future activities & features (badges, password reset & e-mail change) will have the same result.
We can not help you to change the e-mail because we can not prove that you are the owner of the account.
I suggest to change the account name in client while you are logged in and then move all synced items to local.
Then logout and create a new account with the old account name but new mail address.
Now you can put all local items back to sync and enjoy the future activities & features.
