Don't worry there. TS2 wasn't dead the day TS3 was released either. People will likely have plenty of time to switch over before they decide to discontinue support for TS3, especially since the server is basically still TS3 and it wouldn't make a lot of sense to discontinue the corresponding client right away.

I wouldn't expect any feature updates though, only bug fixes and possibly removal of deprecated features (like they just did with rarely used codecs so they don't have to support them in TS5).

To be brutally honest with you... that microsite fail is on me because I announced it prematurely. Sorry. There will be a microsite soon™, but I don't have an ETA for you. Anyway... let's face it... you guys don't want a microsite. You wan't to get your hands on the new client and our team is working hard to get it ready for you. We are currently in closed alpha and will shift to closed beta soon™... which is when the winners of our puzzle competition will get access to TS5.

TeamSpeak 5 bas been under active development since April 2018. We currently employ between 10 and 15 developers, which are working on our several products and services.

If it has a messenger-like chat system with persistent rich text and attachments, it's the bare necessity. If it doesn't have it, you're dead (I mean Teamspeak is dead).

TeamSpeak 5 bas been under active development since April 2018.

Big announcement in June but backed only by some draft on paper. The intention of having only half a year between start of development and the release of a beta meant you were not planning any bigger changes. Just cosmetic ones like some kind of skin. Taking more time is either a good sign or a bad sign. It's good, if you finally realized just some cosmetic change isn't enough to stand against the competition. It's bad, if the delay isn't a sign of a bigger redesign but a sign of not even completing cosmetic changes in time.

But either way, you're some years late. Too late. The TS server I run since 2007 for my community is essentially dead. Communities fork themselves to Discord. If the community leaders didn't do it, some member did it and his friends followed. No one wants Teamspeak any more, only the few old people who always went on the server are still there. New people don't even consider Teamspeak, because it is only good for speaking and nothing else.
