We are migrating towards a new forum system located at community.teamspeak.com, as such this forum will become read-only on January 29, 2020
ScP is my birthday, so get out with the spoilers 😂
When are some screenshots about TS5 finally coming?
If they release that microside or something else

Ps. Teamspeak wont release a 4.0.0 (teamspeak 4)
I think that, as a matter of urgency, whoever is in charge of the TS company, not the marketing people, needs to make a news release or public statement that at minimum explains to us, your customers, the ongoing licensing changes that are causing so much concern for server providers, and when you expect to have the TS5 preview website available. The current bit-by-bit responses on the forum after lengthy threads begging for information are not what would be expected.
All of this current uncertainty is causing a lot of damage downrange, where communities are having to make big, possibly permanent decisions about their voice platforms without the benefit of clear information from TS. These decisions can only be postponed for so long due to the demands of the userbase. Even those of us who have been here the longest are exhausting our ability ask for more patience. We want TS to succeed and to have decentralized voice be the future for gamers, not watch helplessly as the whole sector descends into the walled-garden mud. We're at the point now where this is the last chance.
Personally I understand that you probably cannot reveal everything until close to release for business reasons. As you can see, other posters here do not share that understanding. Ultimately, you know a lot better than everyone that it is the product you will produce that will either win or lose and it has to be the best it can be. Having the boss come out and address the community that you get it is important for us.
Please ensure that this is brought to the attention of the appropriate decision-maker. Thank you.
There is no reason to hide things. Even not in 2019, where you need to move very fast in the software world.
If there are really new and innovative ideas inside TS5, competitiors like Discord will copy it in just seconds, because they have more development and financial Resources.
Communities dont switch within hours/days, just because there is a new shiny feature on the other product.
But they will do it if they see a "dead end" or companies which dont move.
Teamspeak can succeed if they provide features like decentralization/self-hosting, which competitors intentially deny for their product.
But there is then no reason to hide.. since they will never copy it.
And lets be honest. Big Bang Release of a complete new revamped Product with just an very limited closed beta?
That will not happen.
No Public Beta, No official Informations... No Microsite within a short amount of time?
It really seems that they want to hide the fact that its not ready in the near future.
Hey.
I use teamspeak since I remember. Teamspeak offers a lot of features but we need more modern ones like list of people which will include what those people actually do for example playing in world of warcraft. I understand that there is a lot of work to do but if it will take more than month everyone will switch to discord. When I type my teamspeak ip to someone I always hear - teamspeak in 2k19 hahahaha.
Thats really annoying. I cannot even play with someone cuz no-one that I can play with is already on discord and there is no way to encourage that person to join my teamspeak server.
3/4 people are already on discord and I dont know if teamspeak 5 will help encourage people to teamspeak. I got an community on my server and the problem is lots o people already switching to discord saying that discord is modern and has better permission system which is not true. That's a big problem when members from ur community switch to discord and my community losing members. I'm so confused and I dont know if I will be still on teamspeak. We will not wait for ages to see new teamspeak. I want to have people that I can play with. Playing with others is not possible right now cuz of discord. I just want to say that if teamspeak 5 will not be launched until 20 february everyone will switch to discord even me with my community. I really like teamspeak but u have to understand me and my members.
Thats all. I hope I will not have to use discord in february.
So I use teamspeak as long as I have internet. But I do not believe that the development for teamspeak 5 started. Teamspeak just wants to talk about being back in the mouth.
Sorry TeamSpeak. I waited until January 1st because all my users were migrating to Discord. I own a bigger community in my country but I couldn't keep our players on TeamSpeak. This was inevitable for us, the owners.
Now my community migrated all to Discord and we shut off our server in New Year. I doubt my players want to return to TS in the future.
We have now on Discord three times the number of users that we had on TeamSpeak during the last days.
Again, sorry. But I think you failed saying nothing that we can share to our community. Bye![]()
Actually, they are right. Discord is way ahead in terms of technology simply because you do not need to install a software anymore. You can use it from a web-browser and even their servers are cloud based and can be setup in a couple of seconds. TeamSpeak is old-fashioned as it offers none of that.
TeamSpeak's permission system is also way too overengineered for the majority of users. You can mess up your server permissions in more than one way and it happens all the time because the whole "power" and "needed power" system requires careful thinking in order to not accidentally open up security holes. Discord's simple role-based permissions system is easy to understand and therefore "better" for the majority of users.
And yet I still prefer TeamSpeak for it's ability to run off my own dedicated hardware even though they do so many things wrong.
The major problem IMO is that the "people in charge" are nowhere to be seen. They mess up things (like that infamous Q4 statement) and let their employees handle the shitstorm if you can even call it that since it appears that only the shrinking group of "TeamSpeak fan boys" voices their opinion.
With all business entities being forwarded to their sales department the general public doesn't get to see those people's doubts and worries. There is just us "users" in here. Clever.
Whatever the secret business plan of the "people in charge" is: talking shit and then not making up for it doesn't sound like a good plan, does it?
I apologize to those employees who now have to deal with this post. I'm not addressing you with this post, you know that.
