it's not a matter of luck, they want to draw 100 winners ... and ok it's okay to give that badge to whoever you want, but who signed up months and months ago, and also received the "golden" jedi badge deserves to be among the first to have the beta.
We are migrating towards a new forum system located at community.teamspeak.com, as such this forum will become read-only on January 29, 2020

funfact: 100 winners are the worth <1% from all teamspeak users, it's like winning on a damn lottery where the chance is from 1 to 140-millions, lol.
but then making a lottery through a "secret" link that everyone already knows, is forgetting that up to 2 months ago nobody was interested in TS5 ...
We waited so long to get to know that the public beta release will come out nearly half-a-year later as promised. (Probably Q2 2019 instead of Q4 2018)
I sent the link to all my friends in discord. They all laughed.... and said there you go you are prob not gonna get invited to the beta testing anyways.. Didn't you say it was coming in December 2018? I was like Yes
My street cred has been ruined.
If you dont get the keys. Who you gonna talk to? the whole point is for us to speak to our friends. But i doubt we will even get an invite since its closed beta.
Peeps already saying its a Discord Ripoff.
It's really hard to defend this "win a chance at the beta" nonsense as anything more than an ego trip, especicially after already having missed the deadline they previously imposed on themselves. This, coupled with the months of deliberate silence should tell you that they don't care about their fans whatsoever, even though their business model depends on them as a source of revenue.
Looking more at the server UI reveal then. This should surprise no one, but TeamSpeak is going to do whatever TeamSpeak wants to do, regardless of what its fans want. And as such, TS servers are limited to the same dated functionality they've always had. You're not getting Discord's text functionality for your server, you're getting MSN Messenger that can connect to voice servers.
No really. They're paying homage to old messenger clients like MSN and AIM in their new client. In 2019.
To me personally, this is an even more disappointing redesign than Steam's chat redesign. That's an accomplishment.
As i said.... Q4/2019.
What an fail... Finally time to switch to Discord![]()
It's acutally really sad... We waited for months to get a beta release. Yet here we are at the second month of 2019 and it says "Full public beta release in the coming months"... What about the people that registerd like last summer? This is really bad marketing from TeamSpeak. Anyways i will still stay at TeamSpeak but i am really mad about the 100 Beta keys. Like why? Why do we register last summer for a Beta and like over 6 months we get a info that only 100 people can get a beta key and that the full beta release comes in a few months? I really don't understand that. A nice statement from an employee would be nice!
looks like the same old teamspeak to me.
What has been improved? the design???
No sparcers for teamspeak5 channels?
So, finaly we got some real News.
Thank you for that. We can work with it.
Even if we are disappointed, that ts5 beta will propaply start in Q2/Q3.
The Random Key Giveaway is not a bad idea.
You have to register for myteamspeak, to get one.
And the whole group and contact functionality will work only with a myteamspeak account.
So they get many new myteamspeak accounts.
But for us loyal teamspeak users, who has faith in teamspeak and holding up the community, its a kick in the ass. Again!
That Teamspeak is loosing Customers to Discord is not fake news. Its fact.
Im hosting an NPL Server since 2016 and before a not registered server since 2011. And we lost many users in the last year.
Dear Teamspeak Team: You have to reward us loyal Customers. First of all the paying ones. And than the many active and loud forum users, the npl holder and even all the myteamspeak early adopter. These are the Users you can rely on.
Just read the forum since start of the year. We are disappointed. Stop that.
