    Some communities with a large userbase have to make that decision though because most of their userbase is using Discord for other stuff.
    In addition to that Discord is simply more attractive for new communities because of the chat persistency and the fact that it is completely free. Discord also eliminates the need of something like a forum or a website with announcements for smaller communities.

    It's not so much about the bigger ones rn but more about the small ones that are constantly growing because it goes both ways.
    If you don't want to change to Discord there is also someone that does not want to change to Teamspeak and so Teamspeak will lose a lot of new users in the long term.

    I am pretty happy with the new UI and the chat-system so far tho, the only thing that I am concerned about is the new licensing system because I think that the Gamer Licenses are overpriced. If they adjust that I think they have a solid package for the future.

    My community in the World of Warships game has been using TeamSpeak 3 for a long time. And it’s not going to change to this dismal discord. And I know a lot of community members who use TS and are not going to switch to a discord at all, they are mainly interested in high-quality voice communication, and for the messenger they use Telegram, where there is a lot of functionality for communication with the clan / guild members. And what you disliked NPL license?

    I haven‘t received a mail yet and really don‘t expect to get one...

    45.000 entries for 100 Beta Keys is a chance of only 0.22%

    I really hope we (the active (forum) community) and Addon Devs will get Beta Keys early within the next days or weeks. Months would be very disappointing.

    Man even Xfire had legit features.

    At this point i think xfire will rise from the dead faster than ts5 getting released.

    Stop complaining yo. Come back in a year when public beta starts.

    Only because your community does not have to deal with it does not mean no one has to

    I dislike the general pricing because you have to pay for hosting (if you don't want to host it on your own PC and most ppl don't have a server or something similar at home) and for teamspeak itself - I think the licenses should reflect that in terms of pricing.
    If I pay 5$ per month for a linux v-server + the teamspeak Gamer-License for 64 slots then I have to pay 115 Bucks per year which is a monthly cost of about 10$.

    Edit: And before anyone thinks that I complain about 10$ and therefore I am just "stingy": I pay nearly 100 Euros per month for hosting which includes a root server which hosts a Teamspeak-Server, multiple websites and systems and a bunch of other stuff
    I just feel like paying 10 Bucks a month only for a TS-Server with only 64 Slots is a bit much if you want new communities to choose Teamspeak over Discord.

    I think they should just shift the pricing like this:

    64 Slots - NOW $55 -> Should be free
    128 Slots - $100 -> Should be $55
    256 Slots - $175 -> Should be $100
    512 Slots - $300 -> Should be $175
    1024 Slots - $500 -> Should be $300

    Because at the end of the day they want more users and thus they need ppl to host the servers.
    To compensate for the smaller license fee's they could do something like Discord does with Nitro or Twitch does with Prime where you can pay a small amount of money to receive monthly gifts like free games, TS-Badges etc.

    complete nonsense. vps server right now stands at some hosting providers no more than $ 10 where you can keep both teamspeak server and hosting deployed with vestacp. And you can also buy npl license for free. and about any 100 dollars of speech and no.no need to laugh, this discord nitro is useless crap. for any community, the main thing is quality communication. and for chats there is a telegram and viber

    Still not... But idk what time Tim Speak (marketing department) is using for the drawings... So it's also possible to get a Mail on Tuesday morning in our time zone (CET) (when time = PST).

    Yeah and if not... we didn't get a key and you can hope someone in the forums here sends a key as a gift for you. (I hope that too, but I'm not so optimistic xD)

    For all those who registered for the TeamSpeak5 beta program before the competition through the website form
    - You will also get a TeamSpeak5 beta access instructions in your e-mail.
    I think in this case we will get a mail in the next few days or weeks, maybe months... (not Q4/2020)

    Q4 announcement= Total Failure
    Puzzle images= Total Failure
    Competition= Total Failure (nothing yet after almost 3 days have passed away)

    What is this irresponsible level of management by TS developers. Are you all not satisfied with your hype crap or you wanna irritate people to really leave everything away?

    If you were not prepared why announce crap in the first place. People learn from their failures you cannot learn about missing deadlines and make the same mistake 3 times back to back?

    I don't think anyone here asked for TS5 but we surely wanted a good nice update for TS3 which can at least support an upgraded chat system to compete with discord, what a waste this time.

    Today is the March 15th and that means, that the competition for your chance to win a TS5 beta key is over.
    There have been over 45,000 applications for the competition.

    Let's check out what you can win:
    - 3x TeamSpeak5 beta key (1 for you and 2 more for your friends)
    - TeamSpeak5 competition winners badge

    Participants are being checked if they fullfill the rules for the competition.

    Over the next few days (Today, Saturday, Sunday, Monday) there will be a drawing of winners and the e-mails will be starting to send out.

    Those who are drawn will be receiving an e-mail confirmation with their badge key and instructions on what to do to access the TeamSpeak5 beta.

    For all those who registered for the TeamSpeak5 beta program before the competition through the website form

    - You will also get a TeamSpeak5 beta access instructions in your e-mail.

    What do you have to do?
    - All you have to do now is wait for your e-mail to show up.

    I hope you are excited.
    See you on TeamSpeak5.
    If this is official we should hear something from teamspeak today.

    So what? I said 5 Bucks for a VPS that hosts your ts. You just confirmed my statement.
    Communities that only need a ts still need to pay that monthly amount.

    So I can buy a NPL for free? Interesting.
    I think what you don't understand is that Teamspeak is no longer distributing NPL's as they are replaced with the new sponsorship license and (which is the most important) you are not allowed to take donations with a NP-License.

    Yet there are many people that gladly pay for it and it just confirmed my first impression of you:
    Just because YOU think it's garbage does not mean other people have to think the same.

    Same as above:
    Just because you don't need it does not mean other don't.
    Communication is important, yes - But that is the point: The voice-quality of Discord is (for most communities) sufficent so why change?
    In addition to that not every community wants to use Telegram or Whatsapp - They can just use the Discord-App for non verbal communication if they like - Just because you like Telegram more does not mean they have to use it.

    I would choose Teamspeak over Discord anytime but you clearly just want to rant about everything that is not Teamspeak because you think Teamspeak is superior in every aspect and no one should have a problem with it because you don't have one.

    If you like it that is completely ok and if it is sufficent for your needs the better but having a discourse over a product has to include mentioning things you don't like too.

    Edit: But I think you are trolling anyway are you not?

    The TeamSpeak5 beta program for those who have used the registration form that appeared last year in Summer of 2018 sounds like exactly the feature that the community wanted to participate in - a testing ground for those prepared for providing constructive feedback to the TeamSpeak team.

    I really do hope the above news are official and that both the giveaway winners as well as the ones who have registered earlier get to access the beta.

    I think if it is a misinformation, teamspeak would have deleted it or at least said something about it. I just hope that after a long time something finally happens.

    This should be official as some Staff-Member would have already debunked it if it was not official.
    They read the Thread - Though I think they don't do it on a daily basis.
