Overlay is by the overwolf client.
If it weren't for a business deal I'd be rallying hard against it. Why it's an external application is beyond me.
I used overwolf for a week years ago and uninstalled it
I believe that there are quite some details one would have to take into account for individual games. AFAIR there were like 5 settings per app in Xfire INI back in the days.
There is no native overlay. Only this shady overwolf application which you need to uncheck if you dont want that bloatware on your PC while installing the TS3 client.
Kinda sad for a "gaming voice software"
But that is not the only thing they are lying about. See this:
Feels bad when the markting team doesnt know the TeamSpeak hype is somewhat dead...
To make Teamspeak 5 better, get rid of overwolf, noone uses it and I persoanlly hate it. You guys are linking back to trashware, yes trash spyware and does not fit your MO about being secure and trusted.
This can also allow the Teamspeak team to create better functionality, since you're focusing more on gaming now.
Just post here to ask to get rid of it.

I totally agree!
I know more people who use it than people who don't but that is probably related to more knowledge about real teamplay in bigger groups than the typical todays player. (That about "noone")
Also I wonder if you use Discord but use words like "secure" and "trusted" because selfhoaxing is a bit of pretty sad move there.
Beside of that I really would like to see a direct integration of owned sw parts for a direct linking to the Win10 notifications instead of using a 3rd party sw like Overwolf. Since the majority of users will probably use Win10 there would be the highest request for it.
TSNotifier and other plugins do their work and it should not be the hardest part to implement at least those functions in TS directly.
So, a on/off turnable notification overlay (which is not blocking the mouse hover on the lower screen of gameplay - which is probably the hardest to code) for who is speaking or written messages is everything it needs. With the new setup, new webpage and so on it would be a neat thing to get and fully fit into the role of teamspeak for the casual gamer and the majority of customers overall.
That was just the general suggestion to it and not the full sophisticated idea.
I would also suggest to move away from Overwolf nobody likes to use it.
Teamspeak would be better of with an integrated overlay that is maintained by Teamspeak Systems and can be extended via a plugin API (like the client updates).
Integrate things like chat and voice, maybe a Twitch-API and you're done.
Nobody likes overlays with 500000+ features that get in the way.
I don't know the current state of the "checkbox".
But if it was "off" by default no one would have a problem as it seems.
Hello there
I was wondering why we still don't have this feature without using third party app like Overwolf?
Discord have it in the most games
It should be developed by Teamspeak, not incorporated using third party bloatware. Its useful for sending info via text chat while in game, not everyone uses Steam.
I hope teamspeak 5 will bring us some changes.
Yes it would be cool. Overwolf for me crash the game after 1min of gameplay :/
