    server chat: rng fail

    Question,
In teamspeak3 client(3.2.1) on Linux, is there something that anyone knows or can describe what does random/rare occurrence
    of message below mean?
    Code:
    <time here> rng fail
text was in red bold color, time was normal color, not bold.
This message shows in server chat tab.
Last time it was after someone disconnected although that is most likely irrelevant.
At the time I was with this client connected to multiple servers, but only one tab shows the message.
The server where the message showed is opened on two tabs in my client but only one get's the message.

    It's related to myTeamSpeak.
Have you done something on that server or can your reproduce this somehow?

    Edit
A network connection must be available when you or your host starts the TeamSpeak server.
OR else you run into that error for next hours.

I just got this too. I bluescreened (kmode exception, due to nvidia drivers) While I was in the process of updating from 3.2.0 to 3.2.2

During the next attempt at an upgrade it complained about some ini file not being right (didn't catch which one) and now this is what I get.

Is there a list of .ini's that are related to the myTeamspeak that I can go kill?

I've already tried logging out and back in. Logs also don't appear to have any interesting information in there...

    Do you mean configuration??
There is no ini file your client is using.

No, I meant what I said. The installer complained about a specific .ini file. But I can't remember which it was. Not sure if it was supposed to be related to myteamspeak or not... I was just insinuating that there would be something since it's hard for me to not assume these 2 issues are not somehow related.

A complete reinstall of the application does not resolve this issue.

Not sure how a bluescreen can cause an issue on your guys end... The only way I've resolved this is to logout of the myteamspeak service and remove my credentials then to reimport my identity. Guess I'm not using that service anymore... Now to reinstall all my plugins... what a pain.

Suppose to say I was expecting a little bit more technical details, since surprisingly documentation is lacking.
The issue is not with Client having myteamspeak issue, rather than server.
So far I'm unable to tell why. Ideas?

Some nice picture how it works? What are the points there?

EDIT: forgot to include, why is server giving these?
    Code:
    |INFO |ServerLibPriv | |failed to download revocation list - count: 259
    |INFO | | |myTeamSpeak identifier revocation list could not be downloaded - all related features are deactivated
    |INFO |ServerLibPriv | |failed to download revocation list - count: 258
    and
    Code:
    |INFO |VirtualServerBase|5 |client disconnected 'Tomáš (cs,en)'(id:10637) reason 'reasonmsg=.)(.'
    |INFO |VirtualServerBase|5 |rejecting myteamspeakid: revoke list out of date
    |INFO |VirtualServerBase|5 |client is connecting with a invalid or revoked myTeamSpeak ID
    |INFO |VirtualServerBase|5 |client connected 'Tomáš (cs,en)'(id:10637) from CLIENTIP:46926
    |INFO |VirtualServerBase|5 |rejecting myteamspeakid: revoke list out of date
    |INFO |VirtualServerBase|5 |failed to update myTeamSpeak ID
    Client have similar issue.
But the error("rng fail") shows only when the server has it as well.
I mean it is nice nothing saying error the way it is.
Why it is out of date? Where it can't connect?
What does these two revocation lists serve for?
    How to fix it?
    Where is it documented?

The server needs to be able to download revocation lists for myTS ID to be able to verify they're still valid. The server verifies myTS IDs upon client connect.

    Thank you Chris,
That indeed didn't occur to me based on the error messages.

I was seeking some proper technical details though.

Is there some caching in ts3 that when there is issue with myTeamSpeak or network it is unable to connect anytime and needs to be restarted to fix it?
Like that bug with client tab that is in connecting loop with failing to connect, and you open new tab with same bookmark and it connects fine?

    Rng fail

    Hello,

A few weeks ago, someone asked me if I could reproduce the rng fail issue in teamspeak. Now I can:

    Question

    Hello there,

so, I cannot follow up really. The rng fail error message is present. What does it mean, is there any documentation about that and how to solve it?

Someone mentioned a revocation list or something. How can I fetch this list or how do I make my server do it?

To reproduce the error, I check/uncheck the Send myTeamSpeak ID option in the respective bookmark for my server.

If I uncheck it, I may connect flawlessly.

If I check that option, I get the following error messages:

    Code:
<16:18:02> The TeamSpeak server could not validate your myTeamSpeak ID. Some myTeamSpeak related services are not available.
<16:18:02> Reconnecting might solve the issue.
    <16:18:03> rng fail
I can assure, that neither reconnecting nor resetting the password (which is suggested in some threads) does help.

Is there any way to get rid of this error messages aside from unchecking the option in the bookmark menu?

    It's as described before.

The client can not do anything.
The server must be able to download that revocation list (Ports and address can be found in the FAQ.

The next client and server release will change the error message.
The error itself is in hosted server and only the host can fix it.
