    Hide Users in one channel from all users (minus SA)

    Hi all,

    I have the following server groups: Server Admin, Moderator, Normal User (registered) and lastly Guest (unregistered).

    I have one channel that I wish to hide all users in that channel from all users on my server.

    Q1) I realise I need to use the "subscribe" feature but not sure what I set the following permissions as for each server group?

    i_channel_needed_subscribe_power
    i_channel_subscribe_power

    Q2) What do I set the channel "subscribe" power level to for ...
    a) The channel I wish to hide users in ...
    and ...
    b) The channels I want to show users in to all users

    Thanks for the aid

    You set i_channel_needed_subscribe_power only on channel with a value and in server group(s) the value of i_channel_subscribe_power must be lower in case you want to hide users from outside.

    And when value of i_channel_subscribe_power is equal or higher than you allow to subscribe into the channel.

    Notes:
    - We suggest to set a needed subscribe power of 75. So only the Server Admin can subscribe to that channel.
    - When group owns permission b_client_skip_channelgroup_permissions then the value of needed subscribe power is ignored in any case and suer can subscribe to the channel.

    dante I really appreciate your help but I didn't understand a word of what you put above. I think I understood your notes.

    In order to hide users in other channels, the server group permission (e.g. moderator / normal user) i_channel_subscrive_power needs to be lower than the setting i_channel_needed_subscribe_power? Then set the channel Subscribe Power required to 75 so that only admin server group can view users in that channel?

    Have I decrypted this correctly?

    I'm not sure if you understood me, because yo seem to use other words.
    But i can answer both with "yes if .."

    Yes if "setting" is the channel setting where permission i_channel_needed_subscribe_power is set.

    Yes if "required" does not mean to set i_channel_needed_subscribe_power into your server group.

    OK, now I feel utterly lost and confused. I'll put this into basic english as I'm struggling to understand this.

    What I want to happen:

    Assume client Alpha is a server admin.
    Assume client Bravo and Charlie are normal users (but not .

    Server channel layout:
    Main Lobby (default channel)
    Private (password protected channel)
    Gaming
    BRB (<15 mins)
    AFK (>15mins)

    If client Alpha and Bravo are in channel "Private" ... and ... client Charlie is in channel "Main Lobby".
    '
    I want it so that client Charlie cannot see clients Alpha and Bravo are inside the "Private" channel.

    i.e.
    Instead of this (from the perspective of client Charlie):

    Main Lobby (default channel)
    - * Charlie
    Private (password protected channel)
    - * Alpha
    - * Bravo
    Gaming
    BRB (<15 mins)
    AFK (>15mins)

    Have this:

    Main Lobby (default channel)
    - * Charlie
    Private (password protected channel)
    Gaming
    BRB (<15 mins)
    AFK (>15mins)

    I still know what you want.

    Try that one:
    • In channel Private set a needed subscribe power (i_channel_needed_subscribe_power) of 75.
    • In server group Server Admin set permission i_channel_subscribe_power with a value of 75.
      By default the permission is 75 already in that group.
    • In all other server groups set permission i_channel_subscribe_power the value lower than 75.
      OR do not set any i_channel_subscribe_power at all. This counts as 0 and is lower as the needed 75 from the channel.

    I managed to work it out with some testing xD

    Your wording in the latter post is just about what I did:
    Channel Subscribe Permission settings
    Main Lobby (default channel) = 0
    Private (password protected channel) = 75
    Gaming = 25
    BRB (<15 mins) = 25
    AFK (>15mins) = 25

    Server group permission settings
    Server Admin
    Moderator
    Normal User (registered)
    Guest (unregistered)
    PR = Permission Removed
    ===============
    | SA | M | NU | G |
    |===|===|===|===|
    | 75 | 66 | 30 | 25 | <--- i_channel_subscribe_power
    | 75 | 50 | 25 | PR | <--- i_channel__needed_subscribe_power
    ===============
    Thank you for all your help It is highly appreciated.
