why you remove the following codecs ?

The permissions for ancient audio codecs Speex and CELT got removed.
The codecs can not be set on channel anymore. Channels where the codec was set before still can be used.
In future release we will drop these codecs completely.

We think the Codecs are obsolete when offering Opus.
Even the original development from speex thinks that.

And for us and users there is no advantage using them.
    - The Opus codec delivers better quality with much better compression and still gets updated.
    - Less permissions are needed for administration.
    - User do not set such codec and make others think that TeamSpeak sounds bad.
    - Celt still causes crashes on some mobile clients.

We should've done that years ago.

Hello We found 3 issues in server version 3.7.0-beta1

    1. Possible to crash the all instances and stuck process in linux. ( 3.6.1, 3.7.0-beta1 ) ( ticket ID: #ZAJ-398-52012 )
    2. Regex's, IPv4 or IPv6, myteamspeakID are no longer works, if some records are added there, even if you try add something manually, like IPv4 only it does not work, does not ban that person.
    3. PTT ( Push to talk ) strange bug, someone who use option in teamspeak 3, try to speak via hot key. He is not able to hear someone on the same channel but second person hear him as well, additionally that person who has this issue only, see the icon (light blue) all the time on teamspeak 3, but not occur for everyone. Someone had same experience?

    Thank you.

Don't see why this is related to the release but we will evaluate all reports.

PS please do not use the same ticket over and over again for different problems and different server versions.

Update for our CentOS 6 users out there
We may change the way the server loads some lib files and this would allow you to stay on CentOS 6.

Any specific reason for considering this change?

    It's Screech's fault. Just kidding

CentOS 6 has not reached it's EOL (end of life) and it worked before server 3.7.0 and hosts out there still use version 6.10.
That's why we try to keep up the support.

Fair enough, EOL isn't till Nov 2020 so makes sense I guess!

I put the server on CentOS 7, the server started up without any problems with databases from the past server and settings .. So far, the server has been running for 24 hours and no errors. It was not necessary to load any additional libraries. There are some minor issues with twitch integration and how it works at all.

Yes only cent OS 6 made problems here.

Twitch? Something is wrong after the update?
With "wrong" i mean what broke or acts different then before? We know that users did request more users to be linked on one server etc.

So this not related to this thread or server rlease. For future question please put that into a new thread

Every user who is logged in myTeamSpeak and has linked his own Twitch account to his account will get the Tier/Follower groups when they subscribe or follow the Twitch user who his linked in the server integration.

    Hi team !

    Small question about codecs.
    1) Will we still be able to adjust bitrate quality ?
    2) Will we still be able to have the same quality than "Opus music" in final codes update ?

    Regards
    Lix

    Yes and Yes.
This change has no effect on existing Opus codec. We just remove the ancient codecs.
