Finally some questions!
I can neither confirm nor deny... blah blah... seriously... if you look at the images we've published, the answer should be quite obvious, right?
We have a release date in mind, but we don't want to make the Q4 2018 mistake again... We'll announce a release date when we're 100% sure we're ready for beta.
It's TeamSpeak so we decide as a team... but yes, I have a part in this decision. So feel free to blame me.
They will get access as soon as possible. Yes, they have won and we'll make up for the delay somehow.
It depends. For TeamSpeak Server based chats, we have a lot of ideas to improve the functionality to make them better, but right now we have another priority.
TS5 and TS3 clients are interoperable, use the same server and the same permission system. Obviously, we'll do a better job in making the permission system more "accessible" for users in the TS5 UI over time.
The TeamSpeak 3 Client will remain a citizen in our ecosystem and we will continue to support it. However, our priorities will shift to TS5 and its development and right now, we do not plan to add TS5 features to TS3 clients as our old UI is confusing enough.
Again... it depends.
We're testing a new platform with out closed alpha testers. We will have something ready when closed beta starts.
Yes, we'd like to provide a minimalistic cross-platform solution... but not with the initial release.
I'm sure there are quite a few ways to say it... but I'll stick with soon.
Yes. We try to push out new alpha builds on daily basis, but sometimes we work on quite substantial changes. Like I stated earlier, active development of TS5 began in April 2018 so you can device the number of days by the number of alpha builds to get a better idea. If you're interested, here's a graph showing the commit stats for the last 2000 commits that were made in the TS5 client repo:
So you can see we're pretty much working every day around the clock to get things done.
Right now, we're in closed alpha. Soon, we'll start closed beta where we'll invite all the people who've registered in subsequent waves. After that, we'll launch open beta.
There won't be a mobile TS5 client when Beta begins.
Yes there will be notifications for some events and we will use the notification system from the operation system.
There is none yet.
Yes it will be TeamSpeak Client and Server.
The name stays. The support continuous and the TS3 clients still will get some love.
Can't say at the moment when TS3 starts vanishing form the website.
The client will not show the name in server tree. Can't say yet if that feature will return.
Server banners may get replaced.
Yes we will add an own overlay. but not with initial release.
Yes.
Yes that is a channel Banner. **The design may change for first release.
Channel Banners are only available in TS5. They differ from setting images into the description.
Again... I value all of your opinions, but I want to limit this thread to constructive feedback and meaningful questions. Everything else will be deleted without any comment.
