    Charactercrash by Clientv. 3.3.0

    Good day,

the character removed crashes client version 3.3.0, no matter if it is sent as server, channel or client message! It is already so far that we had to disable the message function.

    removed

Greetings and hope to fix soon

    Thank you for the report.

This can not be fixed in the client.
We will add this and other characters into the bad list for the server 3.10.0 (no release date yet).

    update
I put ticket back on todo and we try to fix this in the client again.

Note: i removed the character from your post to avoid that people start using it anywhere else.

We have experienced the same bug today. Our Users reported plenty of Teamspeak Client crashes and had to leave the server.

Can we get a hotfix for that please?

    (engl. version below)
Habe mal ein Fix gebaut, welcher 2 Fliegen mit einer Klappe schlägt:
    1. der Client crasht nicht mehr
    2. der Troller wird automatisch beim Versucht gebannt und/oder gekickt und bekommt zuvor noch eine einstellbare Poke-Nachricht.

    Zum Einrichten wie folgt vorgehen:
    1. Lua-Plugin installieren
      1. Extras -> Optionen
      2. Erweiterungen, dort auf Button "Browse online"
      3. rechts im Suchfeld "lua" eingeben. Dann auf das Lua-Plugin klicken
      4. runterscrollen und mit Button "Install" installieren
    2. TS3-Schutz ins Lua-Plugin installieren
      1. hier die Zip aus dem Anhang runterladen / entpacken
      2. (für Windows) die Batch-Datei "install.bat" ausführen
      3. alternativ manuell:
      4. das App-Verzeichnis von TS3 suchen, dort in das Verzeichnis /plugins/lua_plugin/ wechseln
(ggf. Suche nach der Datei "ts3events.lua")

    -----------------------

I built a fix that kills two birds with one stone:
    1. the client no longer crashes
    2. The troller is automatically banned and/or kicked and receives an adjustable poke message beforehand.

To set up, proceed as follows:
    1. Install Lua plugin
      1. Extras -> Options
      2. Extensions, on button "Browse online"
Enter "lua" in the search field on the right. Then click on the Lua plugin
      3. scroll down and install with button "Install"
    2. Install TS3 protection into Lua plugin
      1. download / unzip the zip from the attachment here
      2. (for Windows) execute the batch file "install.bat
      3. alternatively manual:
      4. search the app directory of TS3, change to the directory /plugins/lua_plugin/ there
(if necessary search for the file "ts3events.lua")
      5. Create there folder "ts3v330protection" and copy the file "init.lua" into this directory
    3. Restart Teamspeak Client

Yes, it has a high priority and we are currently working on workaround of that old QT bug ;(

On version 3.2.0 It's not working so it's looking like only for the new version 3.3.0

And it won't crash on 3.2.5. We updated QT in 3.3.0.

You can get and use the client as temporary workaround.

    Am i getting this right?

    - This Script only works per client. So every user needs to install it.
    - To get the kick/ban to work the user actually needs those permissions.

Yes, cause it's a client issue. This workaround/plugin is securing your client.
Additionally it will kick/ban the troller, if the user that is been trolled has those permissions. If no peermissions, it just stabilizes your client.
It's the same as if TS will give you a update for the client that is protected... every user has to install it.

Another solution would be deep packet inspection of the message packets and find troller server side - but that's hard against privacy of your users.

On our TS we have a honeypot user in the entrance with this plugin. This protects unprotected users on our server very well, cause the troller often starts with this honeypot user and gets banned... before the troller will harm normal users. ;-)

A new client build was just put in the oven... version 3.3.1 should resolve this issue (and a few others). It will be available on the beta channel later today.

Thats actually a great Idea. I have informed all our Teamspeak Clients about your great script and sent it to them right the way.

Luckily Teamspeak released Client 3.3.1 yesterday, so that problem will get sorted out quickly.
Most users are on the beta channel anyway.

Just force people to use 3.3.1 through virtualserver_min_client_version with 1566673023 and no one has to use the script.

    Problems TS3.

We have one problem in Romanians TeamSpeaks. Players with TS3 version 3.3.0, they get crash. If somebody use this command in chat or in private message, TeamSpeak crash.
    removed

My question its: How i can fix that problem, we work hard to bring people on TS, and some stupids use that command and crash teamspeak client and we lose the players, because some people they dont know where its the problem.

If i install in my computer old version, 3.2.5, i dont have any problem. When i had 3.3.0, my TeamSpeak crash a lot of times.
