    Server Query

    Ok. We've recently setup a server on our clans linux box. Everything is fine at the moment. The only thing we are having trouble with is the server query. The owner can't connect via telnet or putty with the username and password given and reading the pdf file doesn't help at all. If anybody could just give me a basic guide on how to connect to the server query, some basic command examples, because everything i'm trying to follow from the pdf doesn't seem to work.

    Yes, I agree we have everything working except query. I have the same problem as you. Except I can't even get to the login screen on putty. If I open it at that port it's just black I don't get a cursor to type on putty.

    actually i'm writing a ts3 php lib but i have also a problem with the login.

    at first i selected the server
    use 1
    after that i clicked on "Server Query Login" in Teamspeak
    set the name and get a password.

    than i write to the tcp socket:
    login client_login_name=par0noid client_login_password=THEPASSWORT
    but it doesn't work.

    What i'm doing wrong?

    you aren'T able to create a php ts client, cause with the query you can do all ,but voice

    Preparation in TS3 client:
    As admin: Permissions -> Server Query Login -> Enter desired LOGINNAME and press OK. You will receive the PASSWORD.


    PuTTy:
    In PuTTy configuration window enter:

    Hostname or IP address: IP of your TS3 server
    Connection Type: Telnet
    Port: 10011

    (Not that the port will change to 23 when you select Telnet as connection type, so take care to set it back to 10011)

    Press "Open" for connect

    You will get a blank screen with "TS3" in the first line and a cursor.

    On the PuTTy Command line

    use 1
    login LOGINNAME PASSWORD
    ...
    (your actions go here)
    ...
    logout
    quit
    (PuTTy closes)

    The command "use 1" selects the virtual server number 1.


    Using the TS3 client
    Alternatively, you can use a TS3 client to achieve the same:
    (After having set the LOGINNAME / PASSWORD)
    Tools -> ServerQuery

    Enter your all your commands in the upper left part of the window.
    Press the green arrow button to run all the commands
    Press the red arrow button to run the commands step by step


    Take care to escape special characters in your commands (username and password!) as shown in the ts3_serverquery_manual.pdf on page 5.
