Is that possible to find the serveradmin password in any serverfile if I forget to note this?

    Hi,

did a complete new installation (new directory) and did the steps you write above - and it works.
I now can upload files and avatars.

The only thing is - when i click on my user in TS i get the info, that i have TalkPower 75 - shouldnt it be 100?

tbh I changed all the values once I understod the new system.

I elevated my Server Admin group to 120 everything.

All the weights are is a pecking order. Having 75 is fine if the highest power you need is 75.

The only things that seeme to have been at 100 were things they wanted disabled by default

No Sir. Old TS2 yes. Not anymore.

But once you elevate a user to that status you can add more via the permission system.

If you forgot to write down that key (the short one) your out of luck. and have to reinstall as far as I can tell. <-- EDIT As Esembe Pointed our there is a dirty fix 3 posts down. I have not tested it.

I have a beta 1 installation on debian 5 linux (which is updated to beta 2 of course).
    The default setting here was:
    virtualserver_max_download_total_bandwidth=1
    virtualserver_max_upload_total_bandwidth=1
    If I try by ServerQuery
    serveredit virtualserver_max_download_total_bandwidth=-1 virtualserver_max_upload_total_bandwidth=-1
I get an error message, something like a convert error.

Now I set the following like posted by KoldFusion:
    serveredit virtualserver_max_download_total_bandwidth=-800000
    virtualserver_max_upload_total_bandwidth=800000
But Avatar upload still not work. Anyone have an idea?

Make sure the server groups (Guest,Normal,ServerAdmin) all have...

i_client_max_avatar_filesize is set to a respectable level.

25600 was default for Normal Users. Guests had it switched off.

    ALSO:

    serveredit virtualserver_max_download_total_bandwidth=-800000

    you got -800000 not 800000

And I only changed the upload speed from 1 to 800000

    Doesn't work for me :/

i changed upload BW to 800000 but still i get only 0 byte images files in my internals directory (tried with and without restarting the server)

If you forgot to write down that key (the short one) your out of luck. and have to reinstall as far as I can tell.
actually it IS possible - copy your teamspeak client to another directory and start server (without database), write down serveradmin password - and now the important part:

get the client_login_password from your database (user superadmin) of that second (new) server and update your serveradmin user in your "real" server (client_login_password part) - done.

I have the same problem. I have done the steps, but I am only getting 0 byte files in the internal folder.

    Any ideas?

It's working and it isn't. Several of my users have managed to upload files the the browser but they are all empty files regardless of the limits set and after a while they disappear.

Also avatars only work for serveradmin, everyone else gets loading image. I followed your instructions exactly. It's obviously still buggy and shouldn't be this difficult to set it up. BETA3 server, BETA2 client.

    @ KoldFusion

thx for your workaround, works fine for me. But this should really be fixed by the TS3 Team in next release. Uploadlimit 1Byte by default isn't very useful

Have you made sure voice IP, Query IP and File Transfer IP are all the same?

I had Dark from Germany have the one off where he didnt bind all three to the same IP

His Voice IP was right but server query and transfer were different.

What I got him to do was add the right IPs and fully set up his ts3server.ini and set it load on launch
    like

    Code:
    screen -d -m ./ts3server_linux_x86 inifile=ts3server.ini
    Instead of

    Code:
    screen -d -m ./ts3server_linux_x86

Please check to make sure all three IPs are bound and the same. Done via ts3server.ini or added the paramaters in the launch options.

EXAMPLE COMMAND LINE FOR MySQL USERS NOT USING ts3server.ini Change the IP 68.68.68.68 to your EXTERNAL ip. Your external IP is your internet address. Hosted servers should be fine but if your running one from home you want your external internet address. Not the 192.168.X.X one

    Code:
    screen -d -m ./ts3server_linux_x86 inifile=ts3server.ini default_voice_port=9987 voice_ip=68.68.68.68 filetransfer_port=30033 filetransfer_ip=68.68.68.68 query_port=10011 query_ip=68.68.68.68

Same problem here! But i think i know where the problem is

    System: rootserver Linux Debian etch

    History:

    - TS3 Server installed and started -->filetransfer and avatar upload works
    - TS3 Server stopped and restarted --> filetransfer and avatar upload not works
    - Rootserver restarted -->filetransfer and avatar upload not works
    - Complete TS3 Folder deleted
    - TS3 Server installed and started -->filetransfer and avatar upload works
    - TS3 Server stopped and restarted --> filetransfer and avatar upload not works
    - .....
i tested this 3 times. Always the same!

I think there's an problem with restarting the TS3 Server
