    Teamspeak should come with a overlay plugin by default.
    That would allow them to gain some ground on other voice chat programs.

    I wouldn't leave it up to 3rd parties to make it, they will want to charge $10-30 a year. The plugin should be FREE to all to help the TS3 user base grows.

    There are already two FREEWARE overlay plugins. But I agree, there should e built-in functionality like in Ventrilo. All existing overlay plugins are DirectX based, while Ventrilo can display overlay window in any application, even on empty windows desktop. I think it uses regular GDI interface for that. I wish Teamspeak could do that as well.

    Well, it looks like the latest TeamSpeak update has broken TSNotifier again.

    Anxiously awaiting a fix.

    TINT is now also up to date with API 8 compatible plugins; we are only behind the others as I was on vacation

    I got it to work in madden 08 but i really need it to work in nascar 2003 anybody use it with that game?

    TSNotifier works for me... more or less.

    But I really don't understand why TSł still doesn't have a built-in overlay and we have to struggle with third party plugins... TSł needs this overlay so much.

    Why should the dev team work on something outside the actual program? They have given the community the ability to develop plug-ins to do this kind of thing. In the end the community will most likely do a better job because those that create the plug-in have a vested interest in the plug-in. If the dev team developed it then it would most likely be a very basic thing and time spent developing it would be taken from time spent working on the core program.

    The problem with all current implementations of overlay for TS3 is that they trying to hack into a running application. Ventrilo, for example, just uses GDI+ interface (I believe) to show it's OSD not depending if there's a game running, directx version or anything else like that. I want to see this kind of overlay plugin for TS3.

    The method that Ventrilo uses is actually a hardware overlay, and this simply doesn't work in all games or with all graphics cards, and has many caveats. This is why we have all gone for systems based on inject methods.
