Just got this issue once, clicked button to assign key and it got stick. No reaction to any key. Was forced to terminate whole application.
Some sensible timeout, like a minute or two, so if it not receive any keys, it would fall back to settings dialogue without key assignment.

I got the same problmen, but when i take voice activated , that works.
