    [Suggestion] Pause security level upgrade

It should be possible to pause the security level upgrade. At some point you'll come to levels where you would need to have your computer running for several days to get the next level.

Perhaps the update should automatically run in the background as soon as the client is running.

While we're on the topic of security levels (and not trying to hijack your topic Peter), but what does a security level even do?

You can set a minimum level a user needs to connect to your server.

The idea behind this is that if you ban a user he will need some time to connect again with a new identity. Perhaps he will do the x min waiting 2-3 times, but in the end he will give up trying to connect and get banned immediately.

Setting a security level that high seems a little much, but to each their own.

If i had to have a security level that took several days to make just to join a teamspeak, it better be Teamspeak 4.

Why such a high security level? What's the reasoning behind making your users wait several days before they can join? Or did you just engage in hypotheticals?

In any case, you can sort of run it in the background already. I think it's fine where it's at.

But doesn't that also mean legitimate users would have to 1. know how to increase their level, and 2. actually do it, just to connect? Not really viable in my opinion...

Well, they even write in the GUI it will take several years for some levels. I was thinking how this could be done

I don't know your implementation, but if you save the state you should be able to pause almost anything.

There is noo need to pause this.
You only have to increase your level, when a server request a higher level.
So in this situation you have to get a higher value. And not if nothting requests for it.
This is no function which was made for playing with it.

I was just pointing out a problem. Must be a habit that comes with my job

If you don't implement a pause function perhaps it should be limited to a reasonable value.

By the way: The listing in the "manage virtual server" dialog made me think this would be a feature that increases the security level in the background while TS is running.
