That's intended, so that the Server Admin can actually edit ... well ... the server.

No, it was disabled at older builds, but the current default settings allows to edit this.

    servergrouppermlist sgid=X permid=9006 permvalue=0 permnegated=0 permskip=0

where X is the server group id of your server admin group. 9006 is the permission ID of b_virtualserver_modify_maxclients.

The server groups 3 to 5 (? not sure about this, so check via the group list) are the default server groups that are added to a virtual server when it is created. So when you edit those, it will apply for new servers.

Same problem here! Tried to change the servergroup rights but without results... It does say the rights changed OK, but the ServerAdmin is still able to change the maximum number of clients...

Lets hope my ticket gets a reply soon

    Solved. In steps:

    1. Connect to ServerQuery, sign in using serveradmin (the user which can manage all servers).
    2. Enter the following line to disallow NEW serveradmin's (when you create a new virtual server) to change virtualserver_maxclients (note the number, 9006 seems to be MOTD instead of maxclients!):

    Code:
    servergroupdelperm sgid=3 permid=9007
    3. For each virtual server type:

    Code:
use sid=<ID> (where <ID> is the virtual server ID)
    servergrouplist
    3. For all ServerAdmin groups (and possibly other groups) for the specific server enter:

    Code:
servergroupdelperm sgid=<ID> permid=9007 (where <ID> is the server group ID)
... It would have been VERY nice if this was noted in the release notes.... Or is it?
