    Hi,

I have installed the teamspeak server and it works very well (debian 5.0 lenny) but if I start the server per comand, the logging will sart and the cursor disappears. How can I leave the console without the server will be offline - what it will do, if I close the putty window.

The second point: first I installed the teamspeak server on a windows machine with database-support. how does it works on a linux machine? Does any tutorials/guides exist?

    Thanks in advance!

    Those are basic linux/unix questions
Perhaps you should start reading on some linux topics first

To have the process running in the background add " &" (without the quotes) at the end of the start command.

you need to let the ts server running with screen in the background. a good description can be seen in this video too.
The video is in German, and describes the complete installation-screen

The screen is then explained by the distance of about 5 minutes

thats how i use the server

    information about that:
if you want to stop the teamspeak-server without to shutdown the whole server,
simply type "top", look for the "pid" of the teamspeak process, and you can kill the process.

    example: kill -9 pidoftheprocess
