    TS3 without GUI

    Hi everyone,

Simple question: Can I start and configure the TS3 Linux Client without any kind of GUI? And if how?
I have a Linux VServer with Debian Minimal, which limits me to just the Console.
I want to try to stream music directly from the server.

    cheers yellow

    re

install: tightvncserver and fluxbox (or any window-manager you want)
then connect to your server using tightvncviewer, and now you can start programs like ts3

My goal is to install a client, streaming music into my TS, so pretty similar.

There is currently no GUI installed, all I use is putty.
I installed fluxbox and tightvncserver and the missing xbase font (w/o vnc didnt start).
I can start vnc now but fluxbox does not work:

    [email protected]:/home/teamspeak# fluxbox
    Error: Couldn't connect to XServer
Whenver I try to connect to my server with the vncview + IP address, it fails to connect

    Anybody any ideas?

    OS: Ubuntu 8.04 LTS Server

    re

connect to: ipadress:0 or ipadress:1, when you start vncserver on your server, it should say on which display (:0, :1 ..) you should connect

Did you managed to connect to your server?
    In order to connect,you need
    *to run the vncserver,
*create a VNCpassword for your user,
*be sure that vncserver has an open port for your display
