Question Listen into other Channels ?

I was using Ventrilo pretty much the last year and what I liked in there was the feature that if I was for example in my private room (as Admin) while in some other channels people were playing etc. and guests around and in one of the channels i could kinda put a "clone" of myself, so I could hear all whats going on in that channel. Especially with Guests its sometimes good to know what they're doing etc. and this way I didn't even had to be in the channel to do that.

    Do you understand/know what I mean ?

Just connect with another unique id in a second tab.

Thats not the same. With your solution i can only listen into the other channel while being in that tab. With the solution I ment you can be in both, more like a Clone of yours (only for listening) without switching tabs.

That's not correct. You can listen in both tabs. If the server allows clones you can even login with the same identity.

Yah, Two tabs same ID you can be in multiple channels at once. Guests are default restricted to 1.

You can set up keybinds to talk in specific channels too.

Its done a little different than Vents Phantoms.

    Wolfseye, you could use Mumble.
There you have the option to link channels, so you hear them too and speak to them.

    One suggestion:

Is it possible that you can hear the other users of the target channel(s) while you are holding the whisperkey?
With "normal" whisper i interrupt the other users while there are talking in there channel without realizing it.

I'dont see any SpySpeak. They would see my sending icon.
Don't miss understood. I press my whisper key. So they will hear me, but i can hear them too.
I don't want a key for hear only.
Look at the "link channels" feature of mumble. Thats the best whisper implementation in my opinion.
