    Then don't use TS3 until it's the Beta is over.
    You use the Beta version, so where is the Problem? You don't can handle this, then stop using a beta version. Sorry for those hard words, but I don't can hear it anymore.

    The problem is the complete lack of official info on how to do the SQL edits. That's all.

    If you can't handle a sqlite db manually, just make a new db and loose all your settings. Sorry, this is still an official beta version, so don't complain if not everything works out of the box.

    Besides, it's not that hard to make these sql changes.
    You really only need the ones from beta17 and beta18. Before that, your sqlite db got updated automatically or there were no changes at all. (as far as I can remember)

    I never worked with sqlite before myself and was able to do these changes within 5 minutes.

    - aptitude install sqlite3
    - sqlite3 ts3server.sqlitedb
    - run any of these sql commands provided in the announce posts

    the real problem is that all infos are there but people just dont like to search or read. they want a 1.2.3 step doc which we wont do in a beta.

    MoXNoX I don't get your point, sorry.
    I'm sure that here are enough user, which can help you to get the SQL's.
    Just let me know from witch version you you need the SQL to BETA18.
    It's pretty easy to get the delete and insert statement to be up to date.

    There is a lot of info out there, that is true. But since it's mostly figured out by the community on their own, there are a lot of trial and errors, contradicting SQL statements, etc. I tried to help others who don't have hours to comb through the forums, so I wrote this TS upgrade guide for them with the help of other forum members, collecting all information I could find on SQL upgrades. So don't tell me that I don't like to search or read.

    Well, if you could hop over to the server upgrade tutorial thread that would be great. I'm about to update the guide with version 18 instructions, and also doublechecking version 17 changes as well.

    Did I complain about not everything working out of the box? No, I complained about the lack of official information on SQL edits. Two very different things.

    And by the way, your memory is wrong, automatic db updates is a feature that was introduced in one of the earlier beta, but it wasn't there right from the start. And there were changes before that, database changes were there as early as beta 2. And without those database changes file transfers, avatars, log management wasn't working amongst other things.

    id2=0
    perm_id=b_permission_modify_power_ignore
    perm_value=1
    perm_gegated=0
    perm_skip=0
    Stop the Server, Put the new one on the Server, Start the Server and see if it work.

    What I don't get here is why would you add the b_permission_modify_power_ignore permission to the server admin group of the first virtual server (6), when it's only needed by the admin server query group (2)?
