Just make sure that you save the welcomemessages.cfg file with the same encoding, you set in the config file as bot_messages_encoding.

By default this is set to UTF-8, so just save the file welcomemessages.cfg as Unicode without BOM / UTF-8 without BOM.

2: !lastseen search for the nickname in the client database of the TS3 server (of course in the cache of the bot), same like !clientsearch. I can't fix this issue for real, because after starting the bot, I just grab the informations from the TS3 server, but I add a small check while the bot update this informations. The next bot version only update the last seen time from real clients and not telnet clients.
    1) Purely because I find editing the config file of the bot a lot easier than having to deal with permissions, and this way I could grant certain users admin over the bot to deal with kicking without accidentally giving them other powers as well. It's totally a convenience thing.

    2) Yeah, I kinda figured the issue was on the Teamspeak side. Figured it couldn't hurt to ask though

1: Ok, but adding kick rights to a server group in TS3 is quite easy.
    1. Open "Server Groups" Permission window
    2. Filter for the word: kick
    3. Add only to the server group, which should be able to kick, the following permission:
      i_client_kick_power <- set this to maybe 50
    4. Now add to all server groups, which the other group should be able to kick, the following permission:
      i_client_needed_kick_power <- set this to maybe 45
    5. Just to be sure, add to all server groups, which the other group should NOT be able to kick, the following permission:
      i_client_needed_kick_power <- set this to maybe 70

    Thats all .

2: It don't hurt, of course. I just released a new release candidate. Only one change since RC 4:

    Version 3.0 RC 5 (14.04.2010)
o The client database cache (used for !clientsearch and !lastseen) does only update real clients and no telnet users.

The main reason why I did not implemented such a feature: I want to prevent that the bot do something online, without asking the bot admin.

Another thing is, that the current version number can not be used to compare another version number. So I must add something like a build number to each version first.

But the development speed of the bot will be slower in the future, that I think that !botversion or !botversioncheck as command is enough.

Again I released a new release candidate today, because I found a small bug. Still no config file changes.

    Version 3.0 RC 6 (14.04.2010)
o Updated the Server Query Library, which improve the detection if the bot is still conntected to the TS3 server.

I wonder running the BOT counts to the total number of online clients? Sometimes I see 513/512 users online. Is it because of the BOT? Is it possible that my server will shut down because of too many clients hosted?

This is something that can only be answered by the TS3 Server developer. You can write a ticket to Triton with this question.

hi... i dont know if teamspeak itself has this function but it would be nice if the bot could send a message to the user if he got an offline message or if its possible... send the whole offlinemessage.

This is something which could be implemented by the Teamspeak Developer much better, if not already done (I don't use offline messages).

But maybe I add a variable for an offline message count (if possible, need to check this) for the welcome message someday.

    Another feature request:

Another executable that will install the bot as a service. So like the No-Window exe but I wouldn't even have to log in to start it up.
