Doable is almost everything, but currently I don't have that much time for bigger features. And my ToDo list is very long, but most of the entries can't be realized in the next month because of missing free time.

But the permission "permission list" is not important for the bot functions, just needed to display more informations in the log file.

I've been eyeballing this for many months now, contemplating whether or not to get it on my server. Then, I discovered that a website of yours with the web interface can do it all

I gave up on trying to install it on my Linux VPS, but now it is functioning perfectly with the bot host. Maybe someday in the future, I figure out how to do it on my own

    Thanks!!!

    New test version (rc2):

    Code:
    Version 3.4.0 RC 2 (17.10.2010)
+ It is now also possible to select the channels or server groups,
which should be checked only. In older versions it was only possible
to ignore the selection. Now you can choose what you like.
+ Added keyword for the server group id to the server group protection message.
    - Bugfix: Using !botcfgsave on Windows no longer create weird looking config files.
o Added the chat command !h as a short alias for !bothelp.
o Permission list will now be cached directly after login.
o More informations for Linux users in the readme file.
o Renamed the following config keys in the bot config file:
      record_ignore_channels to record_channel_list
      record_ignore_groups to record_group_list
      idle_ignore_channels to idle_channel_list
      idle_ignore_groups to idle_group_list
      away_ignore_channels to away_channel_list
      mute_ignore_channels to mute_channel_list
o Added the following config keys in the bot config file:
      record_channel_list_mode, record_group_list_mode, idle_channel_list_mode,
      idle_group_list_mode, away_channel_list_mode, mute_channel_list_mode
As you can see, this version adds one of the most wanted feature. It is now possible to choose if the selected channels (idle, record, away and mute check) and server groups (idle and record check) should be checked only or ignored.

Important: This version needs some config file changes to work with the old settings! See above changelog for details.

If no bugs will be reported in the next days, this version go final. So please help testing this version.

The readme file of the new version (3.4.0 rc2) also contains installation help for CentOS 5 (including how to install Java). This may help you .

NICE! That got me all of the way up to starting the bot, then I received..

    Code:
    java -jar JTS3ServerMod.jar
Error occurred during initialization of VM
Could not reserve enough space for object heap
Could not create the Java virtual machine.
Perhaps my machine is too weak?

I think not, you can find the following text in the readme file, this should solve your problem:

Maybe you want to limit the maximum ram that the bot use. This can be usefull on a virtual server.
You can do this by using java command line arguments for the java virtual machine.
If you want to use 30 MB ram as maximum, you can start the bot like this:
    java -mx30M -jar JTS3ServerMod.jar
Notice: If you choose a to low value, the bot may not run or is not stable. I did no long time tests on this.
The bot needs less ram if you disable the client database cache and using only one bot instance.

    It now works :-)

It has been running for 1 minute now, and I will give you some feedback or let you know if anything goes wrong. I started it with java -mx30M -jar JTS3ServerMod.jar

    Thanks!!!
