    Question Use remote server for 'File Share'???

    Hello,

    I have 2 servers, 1 has ts3 server b.18 installed.

    My question, is it possible to use our second server to host files for the file share feature in ts3.

    Just adding the IP of the other server does not work, need ftp username and password and directory for it to work.

    My ini file;
    Code:
    machine_id=
    default_voice_port=9987
    voice_ip=69.162.115.124
    filetransfer_ip=69.162.115.9
    query_ip=69.162.115.124
    filetransfer_port=30033
    query_port=10011
    licensepath=
    dbplugin=ts3db_mysql
    dbpluginparameter=/home/allofus/programs/ts3/ts3db_mysql.ini
    dbsqlpath=sql/
    dbsqlcreatepath=create_mysql/
    logpath=logs
    logquerycommands=1
    filetransfer_ip=69.162.115.9
    this is the second server IP...
    could not open file transfer connection

    Please advise.

    I think it's not possible without a TS3 on the 2. Server.

    But you can (if a Domain installed on the 2.) use normal Download-Links (Description).

    Question Thanks SpWiRa

    Unfortunately I do not have the ability to execute on the second server to installing ts3 is out of the question. Many like me have a server with huge/unlimited bandwidth and server space, etc at low cost and also utilise a second server with root access.

    This is rather unfortunate I think and I am sure there are many other people would appreciate the ability to use a different server for file sharing.

    Personally this is not a big deal for me, was it not for the extended period of time it takes should I need to restore the server due to the files that are also included.

    Maybe this ability has already been suggested as a feature for future ts3 version?

    If not I am suggesting it now.

    The ability to use a remote sever/user/password/directory would be very useful to many I think!

    That said, existing setup is the 'dogs [email protected]*ls'

    Right click on 'Alt+B bookmarks' would be convenient also.

    You could mount an FTP location as a folder on your server.

    Basically it will act as a folder location, and so if you set the folder to be the folder that all the uploads go to then it will be put onto the remote server instead
