    Unhappy XP Configuration issue

My TS3 is going into a cascading echo (gets louder quickly) every time I key my microphone, a whisper becomes a roar in about 5 seconds. My Gateway 506GR has Intel High Definition Audio integrated into the motherboard and while it has caused problems before I've never been plagued with cascading echos. It works OK in every other on-line application I have (MSN, Yahoo, Paltalk, etc.).

I've tried to methodically go through every available configuration setting but to no avail. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Are you using a headset? This sounds like your mic is picking up the noise from your speakers which will cause the cascading echo or just create feedback.

I appreciate the suggestion. Fact is, I'm using a headset - I tried it once with my speakers on and it almost got me divorced! In a new development, any sound from my machine (even with my mic muted) causes a cascade. But only with Team Speak.

    poison,

Yes, the transmit light comes on even without a mic plugged in (push to talk mode).

    My capture device options are:
Realtek HD Audio rear input (the one that is supposed to be working)
    Realtek HD Front Green Jack
    Realtek HD Front Pink Jack
    DrmRAudio Devices 0 - 11

I just tested the system again on Paltalk and Skype and it works fine there.
