Solved [No BUG] Channel Admin after set to Group: User

    Hey,
i am not sure if it is a bug or a wanted feature:

After creating a perm channel i am the channel admin, as i should be, but after setting myself to be just a normal user or guest (as the group is named originally) and switching away from this channel and back to it i am channel admin again.

    Serverversion: Beta21
    Clientversion: Beta18

    Regards,
    Phil

    Cant reproduce this.
Created a perm channel, entered it, removed CA, left channel, re-entered it - and no CA.
Did you change any settings or permissions?
Also check what Default-Channelgroup is set.

No i did not change any settings, but the channels have been created before updating to one of last releases, perhaps this is what caused the problem. New created channels do not show this behaviour.

I think i'll install everything from the scratch on and see if it happens again and if report back here

    Hey,
i just wanted to inform somebody that this behaviour is still appearing on my server. I reinstalled my Vista copy and the server.

Then i update the server with just overwriting the existing files (the server has been stopped while overwriting).

Now i have the same old problem: Within the channels which have been created before the update i am a channel admin even after taking away this permission. Within new channels i can take away the channel admin status from me and it is not auto-added again after rejoining the channel.

    I am using WinVista 32bit, Client BETA22, Server BETA25 (Linux x86).

    Regards,
    Phil

Is this channel you keep getting channel admin in a sub-channel of a channel you should have channel admin in?

Thanks o.O goddamn never thought of this option. Without being Channel Admin in the main channel i am no channel admin within the sub-channel. I thought this would be assigned within just one channel and not inherited. Learned another thing, thank you

Its the same like in TS2.
If you have Op or CA in a main channel, you had it in Subchannel too.

You can prevent yourself from being Channel Admin in the sub-channels be just setting yourself to auto-voice or creating a permanent guest channel group and set yourself to that.
