    Update server without losing database

    Hi,

I've used the search function over and over, but after an hour of looking for a simple guide how to update my ts3 server to beta 23 I gave up.

I only found admin comments like "use the search function". It would help to finally get a link to the threads or the search terms I should use instead of "update server".

Thanks for helping out a really frustrated administrator

    best,
    bjoern

    (1) download new server
    (2) extract new server
    (3) stop old server
    (4) copy ts3server.sqlitedb file from old server folder into new server folder
    (5) if you manually edited any other files copy these also (e.g. .ini files, startscripts)
    (6) start new server

This is standard process for every server update...when upgrading from older betas
it might be necessary to manually add a new permissions to your server groups. Once
you have upgraded to beta-22 you should set the new i_group_autoupdate_type permission,
then for all future updates new permissions will be automatically assigned.
You think my answer is stupid ? Read This:

    Hello

I just tried it out to change the server and in the first step it doesn't work.

I did it like Peter has written it, but what i forgot, is to copy the licensekey.dat also to the new server.

So if you have a licensed server, or like I, an non-profit license, you must also copy it to the new server

    With best regards

An hour for searching? A search for "upgrade server" had this as the third hit
