All Realtek users should update their soundcard drivers to version R2.56 for HD cards and 6.305 For AC97 (Vista/win7) and A4.06 on Windows XP

    Hi,

after the recent update to build 11315, my PC running on Windows 7 64bit hangs quite often immediately after closing the TS3 client.

Can't even open the task manager and keyboard status lights don't change anymore when pressing num lock or caps lock.

A hard shutdown via power button is the only "cure"

Please update all your drivers (especially your onboard Realtek Soundcard).
Check the CPU usage while the client is running and let task manager opened, when client was closed and compare.

This is happening on my PC as well, fresh format all latest drivers.

Closing TS3 causes a hard lock of the computer.

I am seeing this issue as well. It only started happening with the latest build.

I have found that if I wait for about 15-20 seconds my computer will come back but until then it is unusable.

Here are details on my system:
    Intel Core2 Quad @ 3.0GHz | ASUS P5K-E Motherboard | 8GB DDR2 Mushkin RAM | ATI RADEON 4850 512MB | 80GB Intel X25-M G2 SSD | 8 Hard Drives Totaling 6.7TB | Seasonic 500 Watt | Windows 7 x64 | Realtek Onboard Soundcard Output via SPDIF

I've done some testing and been able to isolate the issue further.

It only happens when you join a TS server and try to close it with the "X" button. If you go to Connections > Quit then it doesn't happen, even if you are connected to a TS server. This clearly points to a programming bug in the TS client.

I have this issue too. My PC hangs for 10 seconds if I close a server tab. CPU usage is low (0%) this time. (!) If I close by Connections -> Disconnect, I'm able to disconnect without problem but as soon as I pess 'X' the client hangs.

Similar problem emerges if I close the client after visiting a large server. My client just hangs before it closes.

I can't reproduce this here. I joined the TeamSpeak Public server with 98 user connected to it and subscribed everything and also tryed some soundpacks. But client closes for me after playing the sound.

On TeamSpeak Public server I can't reproduce it either. Please connect to klanok.hu (900+ channels) on two server tabs with different identity. After everything loaded /subscribed, close the second tab and let's see how it goes. Thank you.

This 3 seconds is getting more and more as you spend more time on the server. Disconnecting is OK, the problem is with the closing of server tab. Is it possible that 800+ channels and 500+ users causes the death of my client when I close the server?

This has occurred on 3 separate reinstalls of the OS. (Tweaking my raid array)

Still does it. You have to stay connected to the server for a long time, then close it. Join a server and stay in it for lets say 4 or 5 hours. Then try.

    Hi,

I also have done some more testing, here is what I have done:

    - Server is empty, I'm the only user
    - Switching between random channels (60 channels in total) for two minutes
    - Closing via "Connection->Quit" (without disconnecting first) causes hang.

Taskmanager does not show any suspicious behaviour such as high processor
utilization... there is a phase of about 10-15 seconds where the Win 7 "wait"
cursor shows up, the desktop is already dead but you can still move the
mouse, but the taskmanager does not refresh its display anymore.

After that, the PC completely freezes and does not return at all, even
after waiting 5 minutes. One more thing I noted is that the taskbar icon is still visible at this stage...

This can be reproduced at will anytime.

I will do some tests now with disconnecting first, then closing
    Teamspeak client.

I'm back in a few minutes

sooooo.... even after disconnecting, my TS3 client still hangs.

If it is of any help, I attach the report file from CPU-Z where you
can find details of my system config.

Before I forget to mention it, I'm using the 64 bit build of TS3 client
and I did not test the 32 bit version so far.

If you would like me to run a debug version on my machine to help you finding
the cause for this, no problem just tell me how to get it.

    regards
    thomas

...one more thing, I tried now a few times and could not reproduce this so far
when closing the client via the taskbar icon after clicking on the "X" in the
upper right corner of the application window => minimizing to the taskbar...

if i understand you correctly, this is a feature under design called "Close to tray" uncheck if you want to be able to close the program by hitting the X in the top right.
