Unable to open port 9987 or get any external clients to join my TS3 Server.

Hi i have done everything i can to get friends to join my TS3 Server and failed ,although i CAN connect using my LAN ip. I have port forwarded ports 9987(UDP), 10011(TCP), and 30033(TCP). I have also tried using the port ranges 9986-9988(UDP). I have a Netgear CM500 Modem and an ASUS RT-AC3200 Router and my OS is Windows 8.1. I have also tried setting rules to my firewall to let TS3 Server ports through and no luck, i have even set my router to DMZ mode and still no luck. I have also contacted my ISP to see if it was something on their side and they were even nice enough to try and help me with this problem and said everything so far, such as my port forwarding and firewall rules, seem correct and they were baffled that for some strange reason the port 9987 stayed closed(i used websites such as yougetsignal.com and also used different tools including the PFPortChecker to check the port's status). I used to run a TS3 Server fine on this machine but it stopped working randomly. Yes i have checked if i am giving my friends the right External IP:9987 and not my LAN IP:9987. I forgot to mention earlier that both 10011(TCP) and 30033(TCP) ports are open and only port 9987(UDP) is closed. I would appreciate some help as i have been trying to find a solution for days.

Server can't connect, nothing i do works

Hi, I recently just bought a new machine from a friend so I can cancel my VPS and host my Teamspeak server on a local machine. I'm running version 3.0.10.3 on Ubuntu server. I've opened all the ports (9987, 10011, 30033) on both ufw and iptables. I've rebooted and started and stopped but nothing. I didn't have to do that with the VPS with AWS since I just opened all the ports via AWS console. But now, I don't know what's the problem. Maybe the server version is too outdated? The most recent was a gz2 file so I couldn't extract it for some reason. If the problem is that, please help me how to delete my partition so I can make a new one and download the newest version and also how I can extract it. If its not that, please suggest things I should try to do. Only I can connect since its on my network, is what I'm assuming. Thanks for checking this out and I hope you can help.

    Question Linux VPS with NPL

I am new to TS3 server setup as well as Linux and VPS servers. I have read several how to's and watched a few videos on how to set up TS3 on a Linux VPS. I am able to get my TS3 server to run without crashing and the status report shows that it sees my NPL License. However I am unable to connect via a client using my static IP. My VPS hosting service is "Inmotionhosting" and they have identified that my ports are open. So what should I look for next. Note that I used my account user, which is not a root user, instead of creating a new ts3user account. I believe I have the file permissions setup correctly also.

    Ideas?

ISP says router forwarded, ports not blocked, firewall open, friend can't connect

Checking ports w http://www.yougetsignal.com/tools/open-ports/. Still says ports are blocked.

    * have UDP 9987 and TCP 10011/30033 open in router (did manually, ISP confirmed and redid)

    * added rules to Windows Firewall, tried w firewall disabled

    * 2 Time Warner reps say TWC never blocks ports by default

    * rep says they look open from his end but he checks through http://www.yougetsignal.com/tools/open-ports/ and they look closed to him there too

    * I have a bunch of other programs (Steam programs for example) that have ports open and working

    * I've installed 2 more instances of the server (deleted the first 2) just to give it a refresh try - after

    * he says it's possibly a firmware problem with the modem (Arris TG1672), they are sending me a more complex modem (Technicolor)

    help??

These websites never scan UDP ports (afaik).
So the result is always "Port is closed" even when it is open. The given website also shows closed. I'm pretty sure it is open and because it's working.

Better let a buddy test the connection.

We are not the manual of your router
    read your manaul
    use http://portforward.com/english/appli...er/default.htm
Set 9987 UDP for incimming connections to your LAN IP

    Port forwarding not working

Hello, I have optic internet from TELUS (some of you might be familiar with it), I did the port forwarding using IP address and port's listed below my thread. For some reason people outside the LAN still cannot connect to the server, does anyone have any solution? Thank you.

    192.168.1.70
    Default voice port (UDP): 9987
    Default filetransfer port (TCP): 30033
    Default serverquery port (TCP): 10011

One more question, should people use the same IP address to connect to my server as I used for port forwarding (192.168.1.70:9987)?

No, they need to use your external IP. 192.168.1.70 is only for devices in your LAN.

Friends cannot connect to my server

How is everyone, im new to this site, and new to teamspeak. yesterday i created a team speak server on my mac. I have no idea what to send to my friends and have them put into their channel address to allow them to join my server. they are both using microsoft computers as well. do they need to do anything special on their end? I have sent them my IP address, and some of the keychains and stuff like that. nothing works. i even did the "invite buddy" thing and selected channel, and server in the check box...didnt work. can you guys walk me through the steps i should take to find the correct things to send to my friends? one message they get is failed to resolve hostname, another is failed to connect to local server.

    Please confirm for yourself:
    1. That Port 9987 UDP is forwared to your LAN IP
    2. You gave the right IP toyour friends -> https://www.whatismyip.com
    3. No firewall is blocking the connection
    4. Your internet provider allows incomming connections with UDP packages.
