    Failed to connect (Ubuntu 16.04 - Port 9987 UDP open)

    Hi

    I'm hoping someone here can help.

    My server is running Ubuntu 16.04 64bit and I've downloaded and unzipped the latest Teamspeak 3 server files.

    When I try to connect it just says:

    Code:
    <20:55:32> Trying to resolve hostname host.danielfew.uk
    <20:55:33> Trying to connect to server on host.danielfew.uk:9910
    <20:55:38> Failed to connect to server
    iptables -L (output that contains the Teamspeak server ports)
    Note: 9987 is disallowed but 9910 UDP is allowed because I tried starting my server on port 9910 instead
    Code:
    Chain ufw-user-input (1 references)
    target     prot opt source               destination

    This domain sends the client to IPv4 and that one isn't listed on your netstat.

    What i miss.
    Code:
    udp        0      0 0.0.0.0:9910            0.0.0.0:*                           4953/ts3server

    tcp        0      0 0.0.0.0:10011           0.0.0.0:*               LISTEN      4953/ts3server

    udp6       0      0 :::9910                 :::*                                4953/ts3server
    So what should be netstat show? Should it say 5.152.223.182:9910 - do I need to configure my server IP in ts3server.ini?

    Thanks,
    Daniel

    Okay - I've tried disabling the Firewall, still can't connect. I've also tried adding my IP into the ts3server.ini file to get this in netstat:

    Code:
    tcp        0      0 0.0.0.0:30033           0.0.0.0:*               LISTEN      30417/ts3server

    tcp6       0      0 :::10011                :::*                    LISTEN      30417/ts3server

    And I still can't connect. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know as I'm completely stuck. I've just created a local server on my Windows PC which works absolutely fine. There must be something going on with my server that I'm just not seeing.

    Thanks,
    Daniel

    Server not listening on UDP ports?

    Hello,

    So I'm trying to make a little private TS server for me and my friends but, I can't seem to get it to work on my dedicated box. I've got it all set up and running but, I can't seem to connect to it from outside my network.

    When checking my ports with a port checker website, I can see that 30033 and 10011 are "open" and actively listening for connections however, the UDP ports (9987-9988) don't appear open.

    The logs show that the server is listening on the ports (https://i.imgur.com/TPcysze.png) however, the port checker (and the TS client on other machines) show that the port for voice is closed (https://i.imgur.com/JPkcd6o.png). My forwarding rules are set up correctly (https://i.imgur.com/DX4LCW2.png) as I can connect to the Query manager from an external source (https://i.imgur.com/u5Vn0SB.png). My client log doesn't seem to give any indication as to what's wrong either https://pastebin.com/4GQ0C1xa.

    I'm pretty sure I'm doing something wrong and/or stupid here. This is my first time setting up a TS server so, bare with me.

    Any help is appreciated,
    - Poynton

    Maybe there is a Router and that one needs to be forwarded too?
    Maybe your host / ISP / Network administrator denies UDP packets?
    Maybe the resolved IP is not the right one?

    Could be so much.

    I appreciate the help. I am doubtful it is in incorrect IP. I know my server has two IP Addresses. One of which is the default and the other isn't active or setup on the server at the moment.

    IT's worth checking if my host denies UDP packets, although again doubtful as I've hosted with them for 6 years and never had that issue before.

    Router? Maybe. But again, never had to do that before.

    I do understand that many people here have server issues and the majority are people who do not understand or are missing the obvious. I am open to any suggestions and will look into all three points you mentioned, but I have been troubleshooting this for a while and every time I look everything seems to be order, and yet I can not connect. I'm sure it's an issue my end and am not suggesting it's a Teamspeak problem. But if there's anything else you can suggest I'd be very grateful.

    Code:

    If it helps this is an unmanaged, Ubuntu 16.04 dedicated server in a data centre.

    Response from support:
    Code:
    Thanks for contacting Support.

    We don't restrict access to the server across any ports as we allow our customers to manage this via the server.
    There would be no Firewall in front of the server that would block the access on UDP port 9987

    The IP Address 5.152.223.182 is correct so I don't think the issue is related to the IP Address
    Not sure if this helps at all:

    In this screenshot it say's 9987 but I also get the same for 9910 as well. I've alternated between the two to test.

    Can't figure out how to open ports no matter what I do! Really need help!

    So I have tried ALOT and have looked around ALOT. I just cannot figure this out. I port forwarded through my motorola router as shown in the pictures below AND I have enabled the ports in my firewall yet it just does NOT work. I really need help on this please! The IPv4 is a static / fixed IP so it will not change but after restarting the router AND my computer, the Port Forward Port Checker tool that I downloaded still shows ALL 3 ports, 10011 TCP, 30033 TCP AND 9987 UDP to be closed. I AM able to connect to the server via my phone and using my public IP but others using my public IP outside of my router cannot connect.

    Router:
    http://prntscr.com/lsj5ns

    Firewall:
    http://prntscr.com/lsj6it
    Same is in outbound

    All help will be appreciated, thanks!

    Server not reachable from outside

    Good Evening everyone,

    i know that serveral threads like this exist - but i keep getting that problem.

    Info:

    Windows 10
    TS3-Server 64bit

    Story
    - installed TS3 Server on Windows
    - Started TS3 Server
    - Connection from local network (PC where Server running / WLAN Device) POSSIBLE
    - Portforwarded UDP 9987,TCP 30033,TCP 41144 on Firewall (Fritz.box 7412)
    - registered ddns-account which is syncing ext. IP every 5 Minutes
    -> Server from outside not reachable (ext. IP / ddns-name)

    Serveral web-based port-checkers report that UDP 9987 is not reachable.

    Teamspeak don't open the deafult_voice_port

    Hello,

    i just set up a new Teamspeak server on my Debian 8 vServer.

    But I just can't connect to it...

    I already changed the ip's in the ts3server.ini from 0.0.0.0 to 176.31.12.42.
    I realized, that I can connect with an query program like YaTQA to the Server and can't see any problems there, so I just changed the default_voice_port (9987) with the query_port (10011) and saw, that the voice port is still closed.

    I tested with the ports with the LaMa-Creation Portscanner

    default_voice_port=9987 | Port closed
    query_port=10011 | Port open

    default_voice_port=10011 | Port closed
    query_port=9987 | port open

    So it have to be a Teamspeak port error or am I wrong?

    The logs are clean...

    The problem is the Router or Firewall or Network setting on the machine.

    Please don't try to scan UDP ports from outside. Your result will always fail since UDP does not reply. You have to check for opened ports on server machine.

    I added every port 9987/30033/10011/2010/41144/2008 with
    Code:
    iptables -A INPUT/OUTPUT -p tcp/udp --dport PORT -j ACCEPT
    just to see if there was a problem.

    So I still don't get it why the default_voice_port is not opening...
    like I said I changed the default voice port with the query port and still the voice port isnt opening.

    So for my unterstanding it can't be a problem with the port forwarding, because it is opening the query port with 10011 and 9987 and the voice port not?

    My portforwarding does not work.

    Hi,

    I have had a ts3 server for a long time and it has worked fine. A few days ago my router shut down and gave me a new external ip adress, I tried to connect to the server and I could not join. Then i tried with my local ip adress to the server computer and it worked.
    The ports I am using is the standard ones 30033, 10011 and 9987.
    I am also using cloudflare to give my external ip adress a "name" but thats not the problem.
    I think the problem might be the firewall that does not allow outcome trafic through, but thats just a guess.

    Please help, I have tried to explain as good as I can. If you have any questions just ask and I will explain as good as I can!
    Thanks!!!!

    Port Forwarding

    I'm experiencing difficulty with port-forwarding for a TeamSpeak server. The issue, specifically, is that the configuration options that are available for the person who created the video that I'm watching are not like the ones that I have available using the ASUS router interface for the RT-AC68P. I would like to know if anyone knows how to properly configure port-forwarding for the interface that I'm using, because I haven't a clue unfortunately. https://gyazo.com/11df1244eb4d204888c014ac74281d83 - interface
