Friend cannot connect: Can you verify correct ports to forward?

    Hello all!

I am using a Microtik routerboard and have forwarded these 3 ports:
    30033
    10011
    9987

I have both TCP and UDP open for all 3. I've also given my friend my IP address because he is not on my LAN.

When I check my ports here they can see activity on all the ports but 9987 when I have the server application running. I've also tested running multiplayer game servers which use different ports. My friend is able to connect to these, so my port forwarding is working.

Despite all these things, he is unable to connect to my Teamspeak 3 Server.

I've been working on this for over a week now, so any advice would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

    Cannot Connect to Server randomly

Running Ubuntu Server w/ Plesk and have a firewall rule to allow the correct port, had people connected and then randomly after a few hours no one could connect.

Nothing else changed on the server, I've restarted my server, service has been restarted multiple times, not sure what else could be going on.

Maybe the ip of server has changed?
Are you connecting to right IP, when you use a DNS for connections?

    HotleadColdfeet,
These websites can't validate UDP ports.
Make sure you have forwareded the port for UDP only and for right IP in your LAN in your router.

I have no idea either. you may check your router/firewall logs if there was an attack.
Or maybe the hoster wasn't availbale?

people can not log in my server

After trying a few server rentals and having unsatisfactory service and performance issues I installed my own server here. I can log in local host with an issue but when trying to log in via the internet I got in once then after that I get.... <16:32:00> Failed to connect to server

tried turning off windows firewall and still same result, .. <19:52:00> Trying to connect to server on XX.XXX.XXX.154
<19:52:05> Failed to connect to server

    my IP address is valid
password or no password same result.
    router has 9987 open UDP
Windows 7 Home Premium sp 1

Can anyone give me ideas? I have a couple friends that need to log in my server. at this moment I am baffled.

It's 9987 UDP and not TCP.
And you need to use localhost or your LAN IP for your own collection.

I meant UDP ..sorry! It is set to UDP.

I use the localhost for me but others in another state can not log in and I was testing it by trying with another machine. Failed to work for anyone trying my IP address...

TS3 server only works for localhost

    Hi there.

I'm trying to make a TS3 server on my windows virtual machine. I am able to connect via localhost, but when I return to my normal machine, I try to connect via the ip that displays on whatsmyip.org it just says "Failed to connect to server".

The ports I've allowed through 'Inbound' on the server firewall are:

    UDP Port 9987 inbound
    TCP Port 10011 inbound
    TCP Port 30033 inbound

What am I doing wrong? My VPS is a Windows 2012 R2 if this helps?

I don't think this is a firewall issue as I've disabled Firewall in total (Temporarily for testing purposes) and still can't connect.

Not sure why this was merged when the answer isn't in the post? I've looked through each post and the reason for merge doesn't help?

I connect with the LAN IP/Localhost (Connected both ways), but on my own PC/friends cannot connect using the outgoing/external IP address. I've opened every port needed, several more from the above list.

It was merged to the other threed, because yyou only mmentioned your own PC can't connect to the external IP.
That is a normal case, when the server machine is in the same LAN network or running on the same pc.

Which server version are you using and wgat is the server listening to? Can be found in server log 0 and 1.
