TeamSpeak 3 Server on Chromebook using Crouton/Ubuntu Linux

I have set up a TeamSpeak 3 server on an Ubuntu/Crouton chroot on top of Chrome OS. I can successfully login to the server using a client on Ubuntu using 127.0.0.1 and it works fine, but I am not able to access the chromebook TeamSpeak server from outside of the machine. I have installed iptables and have enabled it to allow input and output of all ports. There is a chance it is using ip6tables, but I am not aware. I have set up a TeamSpeak server on MacBook Air in the past with no issues.

This shouldn't have been moved to port forwarding. I know for a fact I was able to connect to my MacBook Air TeamSpeak server without forwarding ports. On top of that, I am forwarding ports, but it makes no logical sense to think port forwarding has anything to do with connecting from within the gateway.

Internet Friends not able to join my Team Speak 3 server.

    Hello,

My internet friends are not able to join my TS3 server. Everything is running and has been up for a little while now. It is very weird because I am able to join my TS3 server just fine with my Password and IP that I set up for the server. Please help me AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!

    Thanks a ton!

I guess missing Port Forwarding or Firewall Rules are the problem in your case.

I cant connect to my Teamspeak 3 Server from outside my router network(LAN)

    hello,

im in a bit of a black hole....

I decided that I wanted my own teamspeak server to be able to have fun and conversations in peace with my friedns with out the pain of a public server nuinsance.

So I have downloaded teamspeak 3 server 64 bit.
    Set up my server.
its accessible from within LAN, but not by anyone from out side the router network (aka WAN aka The internet)
Im sure you can understand my frustration when even after thinking I opened all the ports by using a guide on portforward.com for my router, I still couldent connect from outside the network. Oh my life is brilliant isn't it.

After consoulting with friends I decided to make a host on no-ip.com. Even after I SUCCESFULLY connected it to my router and activated the dynamic DNS my server just wont give up. So here I am, worn and beaten after 5 hours of forums after forums and google search and manual ....the lot. I thought I give TeamSpeak a try, once more...

    My router is a : Technicolor TG582n
My OS is: Windows 7 64-bit (laptop)
Any other info you guys need just ask me...I am desperate...and near the end of my tether.

    please help.

    Thanks

    Gwion

Clients only able to connect sometimes

    Hello,

I recently opened up a server on another computer running Windows Server 2011. After starting up the TeamSpeak server, I was able to connect via "localhost" and from my computer to it's external IP address. After I tried to have another person connect the server wouldn't allow anyone in who disconnected and tried to connect back. Reserved slots have been set to "0", max clients is "32", channel max is unlimited, and all ports have been forwarded with the firewall exceptions. Additionally, I do not have another anti-virus software installed on the server computer that could be blocking a connection.

If anyone has any ideas, they would be very much appreciated!

    Zac

It's good, that a local connection works for you (even if try your external IP).
But this does not mean, that your port forwardings or firewall rules do work.

Compare your port forwardings and firewall rules with the LANIP.
Deactivate your firewall or set DMZ for testing (ONLY FOR TESTING. CLOSE IT AFTER TESTS ARE DONE.).

    These are blind hints.
Because you gave no details about any network settings, port forwardings or rules and server version.

The Warning is not related to your connection problem!

Dude, check if opened the right ports. What did you do? Could you run the server without problems?

No one can connect (read relevant threads)

So I'll just dive right in, I have a D-Link DIR-850L, and I've set up a TS3 server on my laptop.
No one can seem to connect to my server except me (even in my network), I've forwarded ports 9987, 10011, and 30033.
I can connect through my external IP, or through "localhost"

Also, I've checked on http://www.canyouseeme.org/ and the 10011 & 30033 ports are open, but the 9987 port is not.

Not sure if this is relevant, but if i go to connection info, the IP shows as local...but i figure that's just because it connects locally to a server I'm hosting anyways
