    Join Channel Needed Group Perm

    Hey guys.

im running a free to use game community and everything is working great.

the only thing that im missing is.

    i_channel_join_needed_group

so for example i make a channel with the name Test 1 and i make a group with the name Test 1 so that i can say in my channel perm that only user with the group Test 1 can join channel Test 1.

    Sorry for my bad english.

    Thx, Kevin

If I understand well the question, isn't necessary to create a new permission.

For the Normal user i_channel_join_power=50(value), then...

You can set in channel "Test", i_channel_needed_join_power=60(value)
and in the group "Test", set i_channel_join_power=60(value) and checkbox "Skip"

    I guess Test_group is a server_group

Setting up channels is a hell, especialy if you have specific 2 usergroups that should get access to different channels.

What I done is setup a lobby (default channel)
an AFK channel without any join power.
A general member channel with join power of 10
and then channel "group a" and a channel "group b".
Now I have given the members the server group members, so they can move to the general member channel.

But here it stops working for me as whatever I try the members of group a can still join the channel group b and visa versa. I tried with the channel groups as mentioned in this topic but still doesn't bring any solution.

This permission system is so confussing that even setting up above easy configuration to work. Even setting up mumble permissions was easier then this.

    Hello

To be sure that I good understand you (correct me if I wrong) :

    - 2 Channel without any restriction : Lobby and AFK
    - 1 "general" Channel for your server "member"
    - 2 Restricted channel : channel A and channel B

And your server members must be able to move guest and member to the "general member" channel

    So, on the channels
    - Channel "general" for memeber : needed join power to 10
    - Channel A and B : needed join power to 20

    On server group Member
    - b_channel_join_permanent : checked
    - i_channel_join_power : value = 10
    - b_group_is_permanent : checked (of course )
    - i_client_moce_power : value = 20
    - i_client_needed_move_power : value = 20 (same for guest group if you want)
    - b_client_skip_channelgroup_permissions : unchecked

And for the restricted channel acces, just create a new CHANNEL group with the join power to 20 (as discribed in the first post of this thread)

Thanks that is indeed what I want, the problem was once I joined them to the member server group they could join all channels.

    Question regarding powerlevels and channels..

I have several channels of which are games.

    BF3
    L4D2
    LL2
    SC2
    Terraria.

    I configured these like this

    BF3 - i_channel_join_power 70
    L4D2 - i_channel_join_power 65
    LL2 - i_channel_join_power 61
    SC2 - i_channel_join_power 50
    Terraria i_channel_join_power 40

Problem i have is easy I want people to be able to join specific channels.
Soo people who play only BF3, join that chan
People who only play LL2 & Terraria can only join them 2

At the moment i have groups with game names, and if i give someone the power to join
BF3 channel they can join ALL of them, as 70 is a higher number.

    Any ideas?

    Well, my suggestion:

    BF3 - i_channel_join_power 70
    L4D2 - i_channel_join_power 65
    LL2 - i_channel_join_power 61
    SC2 - i_channel_join_power 50
    Terraria i_channel_join_power 40
    I guess they are a Server_groups.

You should remove them, leaving just one server_group, such as "Normal" ...Remember save all users in the new group....
    This group has join_power=50

    Set in every channel (BF3, L4D2, ...) needed_join_power=60

Create a single channel_group, called e.g. "Players" with join_power = 60. With the other permissions you want.

Each user must be enter in the channel of his game (BF3, L4D2, ...), and when they are in his channel, you must assign each one to the channel_group "Players".
If they plays more than one channel, repeat the operation.

    Solved

    Hi Guys

I have a small dilemma on my TS server

The clan TS server I admin is for a bunch of Gaming dads and of course that means they have SONS who know each other and like to game together, however the DADS would of course like to be able to prevent "colourful" language from being heard so I thought I would create their own group and channel(s)

Here are my default permissions and rights:

    Server Admin 100 - Myself + 1 more
    Staff Member 75
    Clan Member 50
    Clan Member (Sons) 35
    Friends of the Clan 30
    Guests 20

As you can see the guests / friends of the clan have no rights to connect to the "Sons" channel for security...

However that means that the "sons" do have access to the guest channels, which is not ideal as the dads would like to have control over their sons joining the guest gaming channels by moving them in and out

Is it possible to make the sons channel a default for them, yet have the lobby for other people?

Solved it by a mixture of personal and group privaleges

Hi, I'm so very confused. I have Teamspeak 3 and I'm logged in as Server Admin. When I add a new Channel Group I don't see the option to set "channel>access>channel join power" anywhere in the new Channel Group's permissions.

Am I missing something? Thank you!

Never mind! I had the "show granted only" checkbox selected

    Permissions on Channels

I decided to get complex with my Teamspeak 3 server.
I have however 3 clans that join this teamspeak, and i want it set up like this

    clan 1
    clan 2
    clan 3

want them clans to be able to join ONLY their own clan channel
    however
if i wanted clan 1 to join clan 2 channel they can do so.

I have setup at the moment using join power.
where battlefield 3 is 80, cod is 50 terrraria 30

problem i have is even though the groups are setup with power levels
anyone who has join power level 80 can also join cod and terraria

and i dont want that to happen unless granted.

is there any way to do this
    ty

    Hello

    I merged your thread.

You have to use the channel group for that. Look at the top of this thread for an example.

    Question Channel join power

    Hello all,

I have got a question. First if I write something wong, I come from Germany and my English isn't that good.

My question is, how can i configure the channel Joinpower that people wich are in "User1" can't come in "User2" and the User in "User2" can't come in "User1". It is a bit confusing but i didn't know an other way to explain it.

I DON'T WANT TO USE PASSWORDS!
