Update to beta27 just binary or complete directory?

I want to update my x86 beta26 Server to beta 27. Should i just exchange the binary or the complete directory structure?

Is there FAQ somewhere which lists the files to backup or maybe even a best practice guide describing the update process?

    Thanks for reading

You have many answers in this forum (search function )

    So :

1 - Stop your server instance
2 - Make a backup of your database and a second of your server folder
3 - Download the new version and paste all files in your server folder
4 - Restart your server instance

I actually searched before writing this post, but i haven't found anything useful. Just guide me to the posting and i will start the mea culpa process.

EDIT: Upgraded the server now and everything works out fine. But to be honest the upgrade process is PITA. You have to check both directories the whole time and make sure you have copied every necessary file.

I had to copy following files and directories and hopefully haven't missed anything essential...

    • ts3server.ini
    • ts3server.sqlitedb
    • cp serverkey.dat
    • cp licensekey.dat
    • logs/
    • files/
    • query_ip_blacklist.txt
    • query_ip_whitelist.txt

    Thanks for reading

Why would you need to to a comparison of the folders? xD
    To update a TS3 server you :

    1. stop the server
    2. backup your inifiles + license.dat + database (+ maybe your startscript if you edited it)
    3. overwrite every file with the one from the clean install package (+ copy your startscript in again if you use an edited one)
    4. start your server again.

(I usually complete this process in under a minute..)

As the clean install package comes with neither ini- nor license- nor database-file those will not be overwritten, but you still backup em just in case.

    Also :
