    Hey there,

I am in the Group Admin Server Query and can grant myself ServerAdmin etc, but I still get the message "Insufficient permission modify power" when trying to modify certain settings, why ?

    First check this:

In the Channels Tree, click on your name, and look, in the rigt window, that says in Server Groups:

    - Normal ... ?
    - Guest ... ?
    - Admin Server Query ... ?
    - Server Admin ... ?

    Hello

What is your i_client_member_add_power in the Admin Query Group and the i_client_needed_member_add_power in the server admin group ?

You can recreate the server admin group with the template.

    - Right click on Server Admin Template (3) and select "copy"
    - In target group select your actual server admin group

erm, how do I see those variables ? They are called differently for me in the Server Groups Panel ?

But I think you guys misunderstand my problem: I can join whatever group I want as I am a member of the Admin Query group, taht works. My problem is, that even though I am in the Admin Query group, I cannot set certain settings, like Manage Icons etc as it tells me as I do not have the permission to.

Too see the same name permission, select "Show names" in bottom of the server group window. I think is "Show description" for you.

When you have an error message you have also the perm id to show what permission miss in the group.

To find the permission, you have "Filter" just on top of permissions list.

To help you, you can use this spreadsheet :
    Permissions List

The copy group information is the last solution to restore the group

Ok, I see the names now, the problem is: I cannot edit certain permission, like i_client_modify_power as it tells me I do not have the permission, but Admin Query Group is the highest group, isnt it ?

    This permissions are :
    - in your server group => Group => Modify

Have you set "Show granted only" ?
If yes, unset to see all permissions.

Yes, read my reply, those properties are NOT present in my settings, they do not exist, i filtered with copy paste.

I am using MySQL and the installation of the Teamspeak Database is quite old, one of the first publicly released versions, did the structure change in recent releases ? If so it might be better to start with a fresh db and recreate the sql structure?

    Never mind,

    More simple :

If you have make several updates you had make also a database updates like write in each changelog (I hope)

Effectively you have right, the good action at this point is erase all old teamspeak instance, download the latest version and restart with new instance and new database.

Alright, almost done, but the thread http://forum.teamspeak.com/showthread.php?t=46779 is marked as outdated, how do I add myself to the server query group now ? I used that method back in the days.
