Talking Some Clients can connect to my server.

    Hello,

I have a teamspeak server and two of my friends that live by me can connect to my server. But my other friends that live far away from me can't. Does anybody have a solution for this.

    Thanks

It says: Failed to connect to server.

But the serverquery users from gametracker and tsviewer can connect to the server.

    Thanks

My server is ts3.techstormpc.com or 24.17.171.253. The port is 2222.

What server version are you using and what client version are they using?

Client version beta30 or higher is required to connect to the new server. As client beta30 was released 8 days ago users should have had ample time to upgrade by now.

Can these users ping your server?
As the portnumber is pretty low it might be that it is blocked by their ISP. If they are able to connect to random public Teamspeak servers in your country but not to yours you could try changing your servers port to something between 32768 and 65535 which is typically considered the high-port range by port scanners.

I chatted with Comcast and the port wasn't blocked. Could it maybe be a ping issue that the server won't allow clients that have a high ping?

If people outside your network are connecting then it's not an issue on your end unless you've banned them from the server. Are these clients using the correct IP/port to connect? Have they tried the IP instead of the DNS address?

I learned an interesting fact today

I learned an interesting fact today,

First does your server have its users connect via ip# or domain name?

(If Domain name then what i learned today was if your friends that cant connect are going to collage and they are on the campus network then it is 100% certain they are filtering your server address and refusing the connection)

-Only known fix-Get your own internet installed or convincce the collage to allow that domain**unlikly**

A new clan in aion joined my ts3 server today and we learned that the people that could not connect were on a collage network and my domain name aka server address was being filtered by the collages/University wich results in a "can not resolve host address" error or "Unable to connect to server" error

So ya hope that helps you man i didnt know about this untill today it may very well explain alot of threads about "this friend can connect but that one cant" threads lol good luck man

All of my friends connect at their house. They have tried to connect to my server through my IP and domain. 3 of them succeeded but 2 still can't join.
